Since 1998, the CLK model designation has been a trademark for convertible enjoyment at the highest level. The technical innovations and attractive design of the new CLK Cabriolet from the 209 model series created the ideal conditions to build on the success of the predecessor model, which had delighted more than 115,000 drivers.
High-quality technology, fascinating styling and driving pleasure for four passengers – these features characterized the new CLK-Class Cabriolet, which Mercedes-Benz presented to the public for the first time in spring 2003. The Stuttgart-based brand thus continued its successful tradition of open-top, four-seater automobiles.
It made further progress in the area of occupant safety with a highly stable body structure, automatic rollover protection, head/thorax side airbags as standard, adaptive airbags for the driver and front passenger and belt tensioners on all seats.
