The Daimler 250 V8 was a four-door sedan from the British motor vehicle manufacturer Daimler, built between October 1962 and mid-1969. In 1960, Jaguar acquired the Daimler Motor Company and with the need to increase sales. In order to bring the company back into the black, a new model was developed based on the body and equipment of the Jaguar Mark 2. The main difference to Jag MK2 was the installation of Daimler’s own 2.5 liter V8 engine, which was initially only coupled with an automatic transmission. The V8 twin carburettor engine and the Borg-Warner Type 35 automatic transmission came from the SP 250 sports car.
With higher quality changes to the equipment, including the use of the radiator grille and the trunk handle with the wave shape (fluted grille) typical of Daimler bodies, the English sedan was able to revive Daimler sales.
