Here it is, the original of the little cuddly ball! A car you simply have to love: the Fiat 500, introduced in 1957, is both an icon of the 1960s and a symbol of Italian compact design.
With the revised F model, front-hinged doors were installed in the 500 for the first time, replacing the so-called “self-moving doors” of earlier models. Power came from a rear-mounted 499 cc engine producing 13 kW (18 hp).
If you wanted more luxury, you had to go for the Fiat 500 F L: quilted side panels, map pockets in the doors, chrome bars on the bumpers and a broadband speedometer with fuel gauge were the equipment highlights. The 500 F was built from 1965 to 1972. It was also used by various car tuners as a basis for optical and technical modifications. In 1972 the last version, called 500 R (“Rinnovata”), was released and remained in production until 1975. In total, more than 3.7 million units of the Fiat 500 were built. The unbroken popularity of this model led Fiat to launch a new version of the 500 with a retro look in 2007.
