Vehicle Description

This Sport-Prinz is a real rarity … who awakens it with a kiss?

Our prince may not have slept for a 100 years in the fairytale castle, but it did spend the last 20 years in a garage. Now it is looking forward to being brought back to life. It packs as much charisma as will fit in three and a half meters. A car with an infinite “isn’t it cute” factor.

But no pain, no price, this applies not only in fairy tales. The buyer of this cutie gets some un-tinkered, original substance. The interior is complete and in accordance with the age of the vehicle. The chrome parts are stained, the bright door panels and the sky are not white as a flower, but well within the expected scope. The Driver’s seat and the rear jump seat right show cracks or damage. The original Blaupunkt radio is included.
The external condition is acceptable, but not perfect. The coupe has been repainted over the course of its long life, and rust is found in some places. Also, the front left fender displays a scratch and a wheel cover is damaged. The two-cylinder engine in the rear is also still in the midst of a deep slumber.

But fairy tales always have a happy ending. Therefore: Cheer up!

Italian elegance for the little prince of Neckarsulm

The body of the Prinz I as presented in 1957 had been seen by some critics as too homespun. Only one year later, NSU came forward with a distinctly stylish coupe on the basis of the small car, “a very pretty two-seater with a bright pavilion and gently sloping roof line” (FAZ). The design came from Franco Scaglione from the Italian coachbuilder Bertone, who also took over the production of the first bodies. Since the quality was poor, NSU re-commissioned the construction to the Drauz special workshop in Heilbronn, which made the Sport-Prinz not only better, but also over 20 % cheaper!

Underneath the snazzy hull, there was the proven technology of the current Prinz: First, the two-cylinder engine of the Prince II, later the one with slightly larger displacement from the Prince 4. The testers praised the good road handling and manageability of the coupe – and despite a top speed of 120 km/h, the Sport-Prinz was quite successful at ralliies, especially on mountain runs.
