Only the best of all worlds

A twelve-cylinder by VW, four-wheel drive technology by Audi, hand-crafted into a luxury class sports coupé at the traditional main factory in Crewe – this is the Continental GT, the first model of the Bentley brand which was created under the auspices of the Volkswagen Group. At times, the demand was so high that the production ran at full capacity, and the well-heeled buyers had no choice but to wait.
When the wait was over, they were able to enjoy a very agile and, notwithstanding the hefty weight of over 2.3 tonnes, sporty luxury coupé which left nothing to be desired, owing to the rich standard equipment and 412 kW (560 hp) of power for the open road.
From the Series II, after a careful facelift in 2011, the Continental GT was available with a V8 engine option. Another restyling was due in 2018, and of course engine power was upped once more: The current engine produces 467 kW (635 hp) and boasts no less than 900 Nm of torque.

– bi-colour Fuchs alloys plus a separate set of wheels from OZ

– recent expert assessment (2016) testifies a market value of € 118,000 (condition 2)
– now ready for registration as a historic vehicle
– German registration documents and valid technical approval until 04/2019

It is based on a legend, and became a legend in its own right. The Porsche 930, better known as the 911 Turbo, was not only the fastest serial production sports car in Germany when it entered the market in 1975, but also the first production sports car in the world that made use of an exhaust gas turbocharger. It owes its existence to homologation regulations but quickly became a cult car, topping the Porsche range and attracting wealthy customers all around the world.
The models offered up to 1977 had a 3.0 litre engine which produced 191 kW (260 hp), almost 25 % more than the contemporaneous 911 Carrera. In 1978, an intercooler was added and the displacement increased to 3.3 litres. Power output reached 221 kW (300 hp).
Targa and convertible variants of the 911 Turbo are rare due to the fact that they were only added to the lineup in 1987 – and they came with a hefty price tag: A 911 Turbo Cabrio cost around DM 22,000 more than a Turbo Coupé and almost twice as much as a Carrera Coupé!
All 930 models prior to 1989 came with a 4-speed manual gearbox, only for the last year of its production, a 5-speed gearbox was introduced, which lived on in the successor, the 964 Turbo.

Mercedes-Benz 380 SL

This Mercedes-Benz 380 SL is clearly distinguished as a US model by its headlights and the bumpers, which were a safety requirement at that time: The cars had to withstand a crash of up to 5 mph without damage to their body. This 380 SL was imported into Germany in 2011 and has since gone through three ownerships. The metallic beige paintwork is in good condition, and the car presents itself in well-maintained condition inside and out with only minor blemishes, such as the typical cracks in the dashboard or centre console, caused by intense UV exposure. The Mercedes is, according to the consignor, free of rust and has not been welded. A body-coloured hardtop comes with the car.
Engine-wise, the 3.8 litre V8 is installed, which in combination with the 4-speed automatic powertrain – offered since mid-year 1982 the US market – makes for a very pleasant cruising experience. The original Becker Grand Prix radio is on board, complete with electric aerial.
Engine and gearbox leak oil a little, and the odometre and clock are out of order.
The boot looks dry and clean. The original rims look very well-kept.
The car comes with german registration documents, it has valid technical approval until 07/2017 as well as historic plates. The original owner’s manual, service booklet and several repair receipts are available.

Another highlight from Mercedes-Benz!

The SL series R107, which came on the market in 1971 as the successor to the so-called “Pagoda” (W 113 series), established a new line of design at Mercedes-Benz with its broad H4 headlights and large ribbed tail lights.

The fact that this styling is well received even today, is proven by the number of registered historic vehicles in Germany: The R107 SLs take third place of popularity, only surpassed by the VW beetle and the Mercedes W 123 series (both of which were built in much higher numbers!).

As with the previous model, the US formed the largest market. The vast majority of the vehicles was equipped with high capacity V8 engines.

This vehicle set numerous standards with continuous innovations over time and is now one of the eternal classics.

Every Mercedes-Benz S-Class can claim some superlatives, but if one beats all the others in terms of popularity, then the W126. No other S-Class was sold in such large numbers or over such a long period of time. The timelessly elegant sedan was designed by Bruno Sacco and presented at the IAA in Frankfurt in 1979. Thanks to an improved cW value and reduced weight, consumption was reduced by around 10% compared to the previous model. In 1981, the coupé complemented the range. The engine range included 6- and 8-cylinder engines with up to 5.6 liters displacement and up to 220 kW (300 hp), 5- and 6-cylinder diesel engines were only available in saloons for the North American market. The W126 received a facelift in 1985 and remained popular with politicians and celebrities around the world for many more years. Production in Germany was discontinued in 1991, but continued in South Africa until 1994. A total of 818,063 saloons and 74,060 coupés were manufactured. The W126 was appreciated for its excellent workmanship and durability, so the official vehicle of the German Chancellor Helmut Kohl was retired only with more than 500,000 km.

Rare MB E220 (W124) convertible from a total of 8,458 pieces

Even a hugely successful car series needs to be replaced eventually, so the Mercedes W123, a volume seller with over 2.7 million units, was superseded by the W124 in 1984. For the next decade and more, this Mercedes defined the standard for mid-size luxury cars. The styling came from Bruno Sacco, and engineering as well as build quality were nothing short of excellent – so much so, that its fans have taken to nicknaming the W124 “the last true Mercedes”. Despite its somewhat box-shaped lines with the prominent radiator grille, typical for Mercedes cars of its era, the W124 actually had a very low drag coefficient of 0.28 (with slim tyres).
A wide selection of engines was available: petrol engines with 4, 6 or 8 cylinders and diesel engines with 4, 5 or 6 cylinders. Apart from the sedan, which was by far the most common body style, there were also station wagons (as of 1985), coupés (1987) and convertibles (1991), as well as rare long-wheelbase variants. The W124 was facelifted in 1989 and then again in 1993, when the name “E-Class” was introduced.
Production numbers of the W124 reached almost the level of its predecessor, totalling 2,562,143 vehicles.

Similar to other American car manufacturers in the post-war years, the Chrysler Group entered the automotive market under the brand name Plymouth with slightly modified models from 1942. In 1951, the Plymouth Deluxe was replaced by three new vehicles. The Cranbrook was the most luxurious model in the range, above the Concord and Cambridge models. The technology was almost the same as the previous model, only a new front end and a new dashboard was changed. The Plymouth was powered by a 3.6 liter (217.8 cui) flathead in-line six-cylinder and a 3-speed manual transmission, an overdrive was added in 1952. The body with the long wheelbase offered plenty of space. A requirement was also that the driver and passengers should sit upright, even if they wear hats. The Cranbrook could as a sedan with four doors, coupe with two doors, convertible and as Cranbrook Belvedere called hardtop, a coupé without B-pillar. From 1953, the Cranbrook was also available as a station wagon. The better equipped Savoy changed from the discontinued Plymouth Concord to the Cranbrook series and bore the name Cranbrook Savoy. 1954 already marked the end of the series, the Cranbrook was replaced by the Belvedere.

The Lincoln Motor Car Company was founded by Henry M. Leland and his son Wilfried in the USA in 1917. At first only aircraft engines were built. After World War I preparations were made for the production of luxury automobiles. The first Lincoln came out in 1920. For financial reasons, Leland sold the Lincoln plants to the Ford Motor Company. For Ford, this was the entry into the luxury car segment. These premium automobiles have in some cases brought more prestige than profit to Ford. The name “Town Car” was first used in the 1930’s for a luxurious version of a Continental sedan. It was a one-off naming, as the name disappeared again by 1971. The term town car became synonymous with US automotive luxury at the beginning of this decade. The Lincoln Town Car already offered electrically adjustable front seats, air conditioning, an extended wheelbase and other extras ex works, making it the luxury sedan of the beautiful and successful between Detroit and Los Angeles. Stylistic elements such as the “Opera Windows” (oval windows in the C-pillar) and “Headlight doors” (headlight flaps) belonged to the Continentals and Town Cars. A first downsizing, in response to consumer legislation requirements, began at the Continentals in 1980.

– Rare Mercedes-Benz 350 SLC with manual 4-speed transmission.
– 3.5 liter V8 four-stroke petrol engine with an output of 143 kW (195 hp)
– German first registration
– Since 1992 with the current owner, 6 owners in total

– Driver seat heating left, Mercedes radio exquisit
– Baroque rims (15-hole light alloy wheels)
– German registration, admission as historic vehicle + valid technical control (MoT) until 04/2024
The Mercedes has some signs of use due to its age (chrome, paint, rubbers and gaskets) and needs some attention

Based on the R107, Mercedes created a sports coupé with the series designation C107, which was first presented in 1971 and marketed as SLC. The SLC’s wheelbase was a full 36 cm longer than that of the SL. The coupé was a 5-seater, slightly heavier than the convertible, but the better drag coefficient made up for that, their top speed was identical. Its distinguishing styling cues were the very large, curved rear window and the slats in the back – born out of necessity in order to fully lower the rear side windows.
There were the M 110 six-cylinder engine, as well as the M 116 and M 117 eight-cylinder engines to choose from. The most powerful version, the 450 SLC 5.0 or, as of 1980, 500 SLC offered 176 kW (240 hp).
The coupé was produced for 10 years – a long time, though considerably shorter than the 18 years of the R107. During this period 62,888 units were built – much fewer than the convertible variant.
In 1972 awarded the car Oscar of the technical magazine “hobby” as the most sophisticated and safest design.

A stunning Beetle ready for chilled open air trips

When production of this convertible came to a close, its fans had tears in their eyes! Precious few other vehicles had found their way into the hearts of people the way the Beetle Convertible had – thanks to its timeless, cuddly shape and certainly also due to the fact that it had brought the convertible feeling to people far below the ranks of the “upper ten thousand” in the first place.

During the final years of the nearly 30-year production span, the open version of the VW Beetle became increasingly popular, and as the demand went up, so did the prices for well-kept used cars, which surpassed their retail prices almost right from the start. A car that had already become a classic during its construction period, after all it was produced with relatively marginal changes from 1949 to 1980.

All along, the convertible was always based on the most powerful and best-equipped version of the “creepy-crawly” of its time. A total of 330,281 open beetles were manufactured at Karmann in Osnabrück, right up to the final “Volkswagen 1303 Cabriolet” with an engine power of 37 kW (50 hp) as of 1972.
