Mercedes-Benz 200 (W123)

Mercedes-Benz 200, the dream car of the little man in the 1980s

– white paint and blue interior, all in surprisingly good condition
– German delivery only 2 previous owners and accident-free according to specification
– of course with original 2,0 liter petrol engine, just 108.900 km on the speedometer
– runs smoothly and drives pleasantly, almost like a modern car
– 4 speed manual gearbox
– Regulated catalytic converter retrofitted
– engine and trunk clean and dry
– german registration papers, and historical license plate

Do you know the car only from the back seat? Then you can do something about it here!

Rock solid elegance from Germany

The 123 models were arguably the most successful cars Mercedes ever built. In 1980, the W123 even beat rival Volkswagen, having more registrations than the all-time winner VW Golf. The long delivery time of up to three years had an interesting effect: Young used cars cost more than new ones. A total of almost 2.7 million units were built, with engines ranging from 2.0 to 3.0 litres of capacity and 55 to 185 hp. Almost 50 % of the W123 had a diesel engine fitted – which was the engine of choice for taxi companies all over the world. Cars from this series have the reputation of being extremely reliable and perfectly able to cover distances of 800.000 km and more without breaking down. The W123 series was also the first Mercedes which was available as a factory-built station wagon (the very few wagons of the W114/115 had been licence builds).

Nowadays, these elegant Mercedes have become popular classics. Even the last of their kind can now obtain the historic number plates.

Mercedes-Benz 220 A Cabriolet (W187)

  • By:

  • In

Mercedes-Benz 220 A Cabriolet (W187), year of construction 1954
– First delivery in Germany, then exported to Great Britain
– During 3 years extensively restored (costs £ 4,370), then part of a private collection
– 2018 re-comissioned
– 2019 re-imported to Germany
– 2.2 litre engine with 59 kW (80 hp) and steering wheel gearstick
– Unwarranted mileage of only 58,700 km
– Paint in ivory white (first paint in black) and black soft top
– Elegant interior in red leather
– Original “Becker AR 5065 radio
– Brakes and shock absorbers in front and back renewed
One of only 1,278 units built of this timeless classic

Immediately after WWII, Mercedes-Benz had only offered 4-cylinder engines in their passenger cars. This changed when at the Frankfurt Motor Show of 1951, the company presented two 6-cylinder models: One was the range-topping 300 (W 186), the other the 220 (W 187). The latter essentially used the chassis and body shell of the pre-war W 153, presented in 1938, just that the previously free-standing headlights were now integrated into the fenders in an attempt at making the car look more modern. In direct comparison to more progressively styled, ponton-bodied cars like the Borgward Hansa, the 220 still looked positively old-fashioned from the start. What was modern and received plenty of praise, however, was the inline 6-cylinder engine with overhead camshaft and oversquare dylinder dimensions. It provided a power output of 59 kW (80 hp), sufficient for a top speed of 140 km/h (or 145 km/h for the convertible). So it doesn’t come as a surprise that, while the W 187 had an unusually short production run, the basic layout of the M 180 engine lived on, with many modifications and power enhancements, until 1989. A total of 18,514 units of the W 187 were built, with the coupe – only available 1954 / 1955 – being by far the rarest model, of which only 85 pieces were manufactured.

MG A Mk. I

1959 MG A a classic roadster in British racing green

– 72 hp from a 1.5 liter 4-cylindres engine
– Manual transmission
– Interior has been refurbished: seats re-upholstered, new door panels fitted
– Wooden steering wheel in good condition
– Black spoke wheels with knock-off hubs
– Chrome bumpers in good condition
– Chromed rear luggage rack adds a charming touch
– Top linkage available only
– Believed to have been delivered to the US, came to Germany via Great Britain
– Traces of use and small blemishes
– Admission as historic vehicle, German registration upon sale
Charming classic car despite the less than perfect paint job

– historic plates, new technical approval upon purchase

The MG A was designed by Sidney Enever as early as 1951. After failing to obtain the go-ahead by the BMC chairman, the project got shelved, only to be brought back four years later when sales of the somewhat outdated T series were dropping. With its stunning looks, it quickly became the most successful British sports car of its time, with just over 100,000 cars made.
Engine-wise, the original 1489 cc was replaced with a 1588 cc in 1959 and then again in 1961 with a 1622 cc. Even though the A series is best known for its roadsters, a coupé version was available as of 1956, which, its richer features’ list notwithstanding, never even remotely reached the popularity of the open variant.
In case you’ve been wondering: There’s no way to lock the doors on the roadster, as they have neither lock nor handle. You simply reach in and pull a cord…
MG A prices have been continuously on the rise for the past 50 years straight.

Fiat 126 A

  • In

The cuddly Fiat 126, ingeniously simple
– Air-cooled 2-cylinder boxer engine (Citroen Visa) with dual exhaust system
– 4-speed manual gearbox
– German registration, 5 vehicle owners
– Sympathetic color combination, green outside – cognac inside
– Chromed bumpers rear and front with bumper horns and plastic corners
– The paintwork, all chrome parts and the glazing show only minor signs of use,
– Completely rust-free body
– In the interior hardly patina, only slight wear and tear

The 126er is in a good, ready to drive technical condition

The Fiat 126 was presented at the 1972 Turin Motor Show as the successor to the Fiat 500 Nuova. Fiat would have liked to take over the design of its successful predecessor. But after almost 20 years, the spherical body shape no longer struck a chord with the 70s. Fiat designer Sartorelli designed the new body in a contemporary, angular style, with the benefit that there was now enough space for 4 occupants. The fuel tank was placed under the rear seat, now foldable. This increased the luggage space from 30 to 100 liters. The chassis and the engine were largely taken over from the predecessor. The Fiat plants produced almost 1.4 million 126s in Italy until 1980. Fiat officially ended production of the 126 in 1987, but in parallel, since 1973, the car was built under license by the Polish FSM in Bielsko-Biala and Tychy until 2000. Within its history, the Fiat 126 has undergone numerous changes. Among them, two convertible models were created. One version with a roll bar and almost original size doors was produced by Bosmal on FSM basis. The second convertible version was produced by Pop without the roll bar and smaller doors. This resulted in a small car with the flair of a convertible. From 1987 on, the Pop company produced about 700 units of the 126 Cabriolet with the water-cooled 700 cc 2-cylinder with 26 hp.

Studebaker Golden Hawk

  • By:

  • In

Studebaker “Golden Falcon”, one of the fastest cars on the road in 1958
– 4.7 L small-block V8 with McCulloch supercharger and 202 kW (275 hp)
– Three-stage automatic transmission “Flight-O-Matic”.
– Restored in U.S.A. and imported
– In the possession of the current vehicle owner since 2016
– The automatic transmission was revised in 2016. After that driven only about 300 km
– Classic Data Rating 2+
– Admission as historic vehicle + valid technical control (MoT) until 03/2024
– The Golden Hawk was rarely driven and comes from a classic car collection
Well maintained overall condition, mostly original equipment

Henry Studebaker was a German-born farmer (German: “Stutenbäcker,” from Solingen), farrier, and wagon maker who lived near Gettysburg, Pennsylvania in the early 19th century. Studebaker was involved with motor vehicles as early as 1897. From 1920 through the 1960s, the company produced many styling and engineering milestones, including the classic Studebaker President. In 1954, they merged with Packard. During this era, Hawks were built starting in 1956. The Studebaker Golden Hawk was produced in Scout Bend, Indiana, from 1956 to 1958. It is a two-door, pillarless hardtop coupe and was the last Studebaker designed by industrial designer Raymond Loewy. The designer took the basic shape from the Champion/Commander Starliner hardtop coupe. The front and rear sections were supplemented, or rather modified. Vertical tail fins made of fiberglass were initially installed on the rear sides. Packard’s engine plant was leased to Curtiss-Wright and later sold, marking the end of Packard production. The Packard V8 engine, introduced only two years earlier, was replaced by the Studebaker 289-cui V8 with McCulloch supercharger, which provided the same power as the Packard engine. The model was discontinued after only 878 were sold.
