Audi Coupé GL

When did you see it last time on the road?

The presented vehicle is second hand (family owned) and had its German first registration on 11/25/1982. With its 1.8 liter engine and 66 kW (90 hp) it is sufficiently motorized to easily keep up in today’s traffic. The automatic gearbox also contributes to a comfortable driving. Despite unwarranted mileage of 104,539 km the car was neatly repainted in its original colour alpine white. The car presents itself optically and technically well, even from the bottom dry and nearly rust free. The interior in brown-beige velour is in excellent condition. There is also an original (mono) -radio and the original manual.

German registration (TÜV to 2.16) and historic plates.

There is a current Classic Data appraisal of € 8,000 (condition: 2+).

A beautiful and very rare classic for everyday use!

Is that the original quattro? – No, it is not, it only looks alike…

The confusion is not undesirable, after all, it takes a lot more money for the much rarer Audi quattro!

In 1981, Audi brought a sports coupé on the market, which based on the Audi 80 B2 (type 81) which in turn based on the legendary Audi Quattro. The coupé and the “80” were identical to the a-pillar apart from the striking twin headlamps of the coupé. The most noticeable features at the rear were the high, narrow taillights and the light band. The 5-cylinder engines were available for the GT as were the approved 4-cylinder motors from the Audi 80 for the GL. Coupés of the first model years with GT equipment can be recognized by the darker foiling of the body below the bumpers and side skirts.

After the facelift in the summer of 1984, the cars are bulkier at back and front, have bevelled headlamp lens and the rear spoiler of the quattro.

Citroën 2 CV 6

One of France’s most iconic cars: “The “umbrella on wheels” is worshiped by enthusiasts “not only a car, but a way of life” and described as “the most intelligent application of minimalism ever to succeed as a car”

– This charming 2 CV is completely restored, has new tires and was repainted in the original colour “vert jade” (jade green)
– absolutely no rust
– Originally delivered to Spain to the German owner
– only one owner from new and reportedly accident-free
– original 602 cc engine with 21 kW (28 hp) and the unmistakeable 2 CV sound
– it comes of course with a roll-back canvas top
– Spanish registration documents

In the James Bond “For your eyes only” movie, Roger Moor as 007 escaped from his persecutors in a yellow “CV 6 – one of the most epically funny chases!

The French revolution and an automotive icon: “La toute petite voiture” (really little car)

The 2CV was the mid-1930s brainchild of Pierre-Jules Boulanger, the head of Citroën
Long before the Volkswagen was heard of, M. Boulanger decided that there was a market for a cheap, easily maintained, basic car to replace the horse and cart on French rural roads, and even on the fields. His specification was for an “umbrella on wheels”, a car that could carry 50 kilogrammes and four people at up to 60kph and cross a ploughed field carrying a basket of eggs. Since the seats were removable to allow animals to be carried, that has sometimes been elaborated to “a car capable of driving across a ploughed field with a sheep in the back and a pile of eggs on the front seat, without breaking the eggs”.
Simple, almost primitive and yet full of innovation, the unusual vehicle made friends right from the start. Designed before world war II, mass production began only in 1949 and then continued with relatively minor modifications for over 4 decades.
The proverbial reliability of the small Citroen is based on the principle that what’s not there can’t break:
However, the vast majority of the 2 CV felt prey to rust , so that well-maintained vehicles have today become rare, sought-after classics.

Mercedes-Benz 220 A Cabriolet (W187)

Mercedes-Benz 220 A Cabriolet (W187), year of construction 1954
– First delivery in Germany, then exported to Great Britain
– During 3 years extensively restored (costs £ 4,370), then part of a private collection
– 2018 re-comissioned
– 2019 re-imported to Germany
– 2.2 litre engine with 59 kW (80 hp) and steering wheel gearstick
– Unwarranted mileage of only 58,700 km
– Paint in ivory white (first paint in black) and black soft top
– Elegant interior in red leather
– Original “Becker AR 5065 radio
– Brakes and shock absorbers in front and back renewed
One of only 1,278 units built of this timeless classic

Immediately after WWII, Mercedes-Benz had only offered 4-cylinder engines in their passenger cars. This changed when at the Frankfurt Motor Show of 1951, the company presented two 6-cylinder models: One was the range-topping 300 (W 186), the other the 220 (W 187). The latter essentially used the chassis and body shell of the pre-war W 153, presented in 1938, just that the previously free-standing headlights were now integrated into the fenders in an attempt at making the car look more modern. In direct comparison to more progressively styled, ponton-bodied cars like the Borgward Hansa, the 220 still looked positively old-fashioned from the start. What was modern and received plenty of praise, however, was the inline 6-cylinder engine with overhead camshaft and oversquare dylinder dimensions. It provided a power output of 59 kW (80 hp), sufficient for a top speed of 140 km/h (or 145 km/h for the convertible). So it doesn’t come as a surprise that, while the W 187 had an unusually short production run, the basic layout of the M 180 engine lived on, with many modifications and power enhancements, until 1989. A total of 18,514 units of the W 187 were built, with the coupe – only available 1954 / 1955 – being by far the rarest model, of which only 85 pieces were manufactured.

This SL is equipped with the 3.8 liter V8 engine (M116) and provides 114 kW (155 hp), the maximum speed is 185 km / h. Painted in the original elegant anthracite grey metallic (MB colour code 172) with black hardtop and black soft top, both like new. Unwarranted mileage 131,071 mls, first registration 1982.

Paint and chrome are very good, interior in grey leather also. Due to its exclusive stay in sunny Southern California, the vehicle is rust free. It has full service history up to 125,774 mls, the original owner’s manual and service checkbook are available.

Very beautiful chromed alloy wheels with good tyres match the elegant grey exterior. Air conditioning is on board, as well as cruise control, power windows and a third brake light.
Full German technical approval (TÜV to 7/2016) and H appraisal enable the car to be registered in Germany.

A design classic in an elegant colour scheme!

Another highlight from Mercedes-Benz!

The SL series R 107, which came on the market in 1971 as the successor to the so-called “Pagoda” (W 113 series), established a new line of design at Mercedes-Benz with its broad H4 headlights and large ribbed tail lights.

The fact that this styling is well received even today, is proven by the number of registered historic vehicles in Germany: The R107 SLs take third place of popularity, only surpassed by the VW beetle and the Mercedes W 123 series (both of which were built in much higher numbers!).

As with the previous model, the US formed the largest market. The vast majority of the vehicles was equipped with high capacity V8 engines.

This vehicle set numerous standards with continuous innovations over time and is now one of the eternal classics.

The original F Series, as presented in 1948, was the first pickup truck by Ford which was not based upon a car chassis, but on a purpose-built truck platform. The models were denominated F-1 through F-8, according to their loading capacity, with the F-1 being the smallest (1/2 ton). After four years of production, the 2nd generation introduced a different naming scheme which is valid until today. What used to be the F-1 became the F-100, larger models were then called F-110, F-250, F-260, F-350 and F-360.
The 2nd generation F series, which had increased dimensions and improvements to engines and chassis, was assembled at 11 Ford factories, including one in Brazil, where production continued after it had ceased in the US. On the powertrain side, customers could choose between straight-6 and V8 engines with up to 129 kW (173 hp), with either manual 3-speed, 4-speed or automatic transmission. Power steering was introduced as an option in 1954.
The F Series continues to be one of Fords most successful product lines, which has in 2015 reached its 13th generation.

This Mercedes Flagship of the late 60s comes with both sophisticated and elegant color combination of grey and red.

– from 1972, the last year of production
– delivered to Japan, re-imported to Germany in 2019
– 2.8 litre engine with 103 kW (140 hp)
– automatic transmission with steering column mounted gear selector
– leather interior
– auxiliary headlights
– already eligible for German registration as a historic vehicle

The S-Class of the late 60s

Even if the W108 model series was never officially called “S-class”, it was just that: The top model of the German premium manufacturer, predestined for the rich and famous in all countries. Presidents, business leaders, successful businessmen and nobles should buy it. Since these gentlemen preferred being chauffeured, a long-wheelbase version was offered during the entire construction period.
One could choose between the 6- and 8-cylinder engines, whereupon the biggest, a powerful 8-cylinder engine with 4.5 liter capacity, was produced only for the American market. Apart from that, the big Benz was – as always – also a technology and innovation leader, it had disc brakes on all wheels and a dual brake circuit. The design was chosen deliberately free of short-lived fads (like the tail fins of the previous model).

A luxury car with an extravagant ruby red colouring

– Registered in the Netherlands and in 2021 imported to Germany (driven with no issues)
– Dutch registration documents, last technical control in 2019
– Right hand driver
– Air conditioning
– Power seats
– Bodypaint and interior are in good condition
– Odometer without function (mileage not guaranteed)
– Rear power windows do not close tightly (can be closed manually)
– Engine starts only with start booster spray

The Bentley Mulsanne is a performance luxury car which was produced by Bentley Motors Limited from 1980 until 1992, though derivative models like the Continental T and Azure continued in production into the 2000s. The name “Mulsanne” is derived from Bentley’s motorsport history, which included five victories at the 24 Hours of Le Mans between 1924 and 1930 — the ‘Mulsanne Straight’ being the stretch of the Le Mans racecourse where cars reach their highest speeds. The Mulsanne shared the traditional 6.75 L (6750 cc/411 in³) Rolls-Royce V8 with aluminium alloy cylinder heads. Two SU carburettors were replaced by Bosch fuel injection on all cars from 1986. All Mulsannes use a 3-speed automatic transmission.
Launched at the Geneva Motor Show in 1982 and produced until 1985 was the Mulsanne Turbo. There was a 50% increase in power thanks to the Garrett AiResearch turbocharger. There was the usual highly polished walnut veneered fascia, blemish-free leather and carpets and headlining of pure wool for the interior. 498 short wheelbase and 18 long wheelbase Mulsanne Turbos were built.
The Mulsanne Turbo was replaced by the Turbo R, which used a fuel injected version of the same engine. A British racing green Turbo has been used in the two James Bond novels Role of Honour and Nobody Lives for Ever by John Gardner.

– essentially untinkered original condition throughout
– reportedly accident-free car, regularly serviced, invoices available
– bi-colour Fuchs alloys plus a separate set of wheels from OZ

– recent expert assessment (2016) testifies a market value of € 118,000 (condition 2)
– now ready for registration as a historic vehicle
– German registration documents and valid technical approval until 04/2019

It is based on a legend, and became a legend in its own right. The Porsche 930, better known as the 911 Turbo, was not only the fastest serial production sports car in Germany when it entered the market in 1975, but also the first production sports car in the world that made use of an exhaust gas turbocharger. It owes its existence to homologation regulations but quickly became a cult car, topping the Porsche range and attracting wealthy customers all around the world.
The models offered up to 1977 had a 3.0 litre engine which produced 191 kW (260 hp), almost 25 % more than the contemporaneous 911 Carrera. In 1978, an intercooler was added and the displacement increased to 3.3 litres. Power output reached 221 kW (300 hp).
Targa and convertible variants of the 911 Turbo are rare due to the fact that they were only added to the lineup in 1987 – and they came with a hefty price tag: A 911 Turbo Cabrio cost around DM 22,000 more than a Turbo Coupé and almost twice as much as a Carrera Coupé!
All 930 models prior to 1989 came with a 4-speed manual gearbox, only for the last year of its production, a 5-speed gearbox was introduced, which lived on in the successor, the 964 Turbo.

Cadillac Brougham d’Elegance

The Gulf War rages in the middle east. The Soviet Union dissolves. George Bush senior rules the United States as president: Are the memories still fresh? This is 1991, the year this Cadillac Brougham d’Elegance rolled off the assembly lane in Arlington, Texas. A car that seemed to come from a different era even when new. The late 1980s/ early 1990s were all about downsizing, but here we have a 5.6 m two-ton sedan, completely old-school – except maybe the engine, because the V8 with merely 5.0 litres of displacement and a power output of 127 kW (170 hp) is small by American standards. In every other field, this sedan oozes conservatism. And it knocks back the years, with its brown metallic paintwork virtually free of visible rust and chrome in very good condition.
On the inside, too, the plush leather seating looks well-kept. The list of amenities is long in a Brougham: power windows, cruise control, climate control, electrically adjustable seats, rear-seat reading lamps and of course a stereo sound system.
This Cadillac has an unwarranted mileage of only 77,000 mls and comes with the American title.
Once an anachronism, today an authentic modern classic!

In the 19th century, a “brougham” was a light horse-drawn carriage. Cadillac used the name to denominate their luxury sedans as early as 1916, and then intermittently as an option package or subseries of their full-size models. In 1987, Brougham became a Cadillac model in its own right, the last remaining rear-wheel drive model in the lineup after the Fleetwood and DeVille had been downsized and converted to front-wheel drive.
The Brougham, effectively the same model that had been sold as Fleetwood Brougham since 1984, was continued as the top of the line Cadillac and was built with only minor changes, mostly regarding the radiator grille, until 1992. An optional “d’Elegance” package was available which offered an even more luxurious trim level.
All Broughams came with V8 engines with either 5.0 litres or 5.7 litres of capacity, which were mated to a 4-speed automatic gearbox.
The Brougham was also the last Cadillac that came without any airbags. The contemporary sales brochure marketed it as “The classic spirit of Cadillac” – “crafted in the finest Cadillac traditions”.
