The Volkswagen Corrado presented in 1988 was intended to be a cheaper successor to the VW Scirocco II. However, even during the development phase it was established that the “Scirocco III” could not be offered at a lower price and so the Corrado became an independent sports coupe and technology carrier. Originally the vehicle was called “Taifun”. As this carried negative connotations, the name was changed to Corrado, which was derived from the Spanish word for “to run”. The “runner” was above all robust, suitable for everyday use and had a good supply of spare parts. A special feature of the car was the rear wing, which extended automatically at speeds above 120 km/h. An increase in power output from the unchanged displacement was made possible by the G-loader in the G60. Extraordinary for that time was the equipment of the Corrado with power steering, ABS and fog lights as standard. In 1991, models with 16V and VR6 engines were offered, and one year later a facelift brought a re-designed interior. In 1995 the last VW Corrado left the production factory. The model remains in memory as a combination of sportiness and usability.

Porsche 911 Carrera 2 Coupé (964)

This white Porsche Carrera 2 coupé from the 964 series was built in 1990 and originally delivered to the US. It was reimported and has been registered in Germany since 2012 with one ownership in the registration documents. The number of previous owners in the US is unknown. The odometer shows an unwarranted mileage of 125,600 km.
It is an early Tiptronic model, as this system had only been introduced in 1990, and it also features two airbags, which had become standard for the US specification of the same year. The Porsche also comes equipped with climate control (out of order), trip computer, cruise control, power windows, electrically adjustable seats, sunroof and the original Porsche CR 31 cassette radio (currently not working). It runs on the popular “man hole cover” rims with only little curb damage. The black leather interior is in good shape with slight traces of use. The driver’s door, rear bonnet and rear bumper have been repainted. Stone chip damage with onset of rust is visible on the front boot lid. The underbody is slightly grazed.
The 6 cylinder engine in the back produces 184 kW (250 hp) of power, sufficient for a top speed of up to 256 km/h. Technical approval expired in 05/2014.
All in all, a competitively priced 911 in decent condition which still needs a few things done.

After 16 years of production, the highly popular “G model” of the Porsche 911 was due for a thorough makeover in 1989. The successor, which bore the internal code 964, is said to have shared no more than 15 % of its parts with model it replaced. While retaining the characteristic basic design, the 964 brought a cornucopia of technical innovations. For the first time in a 911, all wheel drive, derived from the technology carrier Porsche 959, and the Tiptronic automatic gearshift became available. Power steering, airbags as well as ABS brakes likewise found their way into the 911. The suspension was revised substantially, it now featured coil springs and shock absorbers instead of torsion bars. From the outside, the most noticeable change lay in the large, integrated bumpers, as well as in the electric rear spoiler which was raised and lowered according to the travelling speed.
In the rear, there was still the air-cooled six-cylinder boxer engine – now with twin-spark – which most commonly had 3.6 litres of displacement, though 3.3 and 3.75 litre variants were available, as well as turbo engines.
The 964 was the last 911 model which was offered as a traditional Targa with the removable roof.

Mercedes-Benz 200 (W123)

– ordinary Joe’s dream car in the 1980s: Mercedes-Benz 200
– white exterior with blue interior, all in surprisingly good condition
– originally delivered to sunny Italy, just two owners from new, reportedly never in any accident
– of course still with its original 2.0 litre petrol engine, only 107,500 km on the clock
– runs smooth and drives well, almost like a modern car
– 5-speed manual gearbox
– engine compartment and boot clean and dry
– power windows in front and steel sunroof – typical 1980s extras
– German registration documents, valid technical approval until 07/2019 and historic plates
– Do you know this car only from the rear seat? Here’s your chance to do something about it!

Rock solid elegance from Germany

The 123 models were arguably the most successful cars Mercedes ever built. In 1980, the W123 even beat rival Volkswagen, having more registrations than the all-time winner VW Golf. The long delivery time of up to three years had an interesting effect: Young used cars cost more than new ones. A total of almost 2.7 million units were built, with engines ranging from 2.0 to 3.0 litres of capacity and 55 to 185 hp. Almost 50 % of the W123 had a diesel engine fitted – which was the engine of choice for taxi companies all over the world. Cars from this series have the reputation of being extremely reliable and perfectly able to cover distances of 800.000 km and more without breaking down. The W123 series was also the first Mercedes which was available as a factory-built station wagon (the very few wagons of the W114/115 had been licence builds).

Nowadays, these elegant Mercedes have become popular classics. Even the last of their kind can now obtain the historic number plates.

Jaguar XJ 12 H.E. Sovereign

– 1984 Jaguar XJ 12 H.E. Sovereign Series III
– German delivery, sold and serviced by Jaguar dealership in Munich up to 96,000 km
– 5.3-litre V12 engine with 217 kW (295 hp) and automatic transmission
– credible mileage of 145,500 km
– classic colour scheme: “British racing green” with “bisquit-beige” leather interior
– burlwood dashboard, centre armrest
– power windows, cruise control
– original owner’s manual available
– German registration dokuments, already eligible for registration as a historic vehicle

The XJ may be regarded as Sir William Lyons’ masterpiece. It was the last car the co-founder of the Jaguar company designed, and what he had created in 1968 turned out to be perennial: The luxury sedan was built over 24 years with only minor modifications regarding the bodywork.
The XJ effectively replaced not only the S series, but the 420 and Mk II along with it, becoming the sole Jaguar saloon and one of the best known British motorcars. At first, only the XJ6 was available, but in 1972, a 12-cylinder version was added, the XJ12, at that time the world’s only mass-produced 12-cylinder sedan.
The first major facelift for the 1974 model year brought raised front bumpers and, consequently, a flatter radiator grille which made the XJ appear even more slender and elegant.
In 1979 the XJ was facelifted once more, incorporating a mild re-design by Pininfarina while largely retaining Sir Lyons’ original lines. Over the whole production span, around 318,000 XJ6 and XJ12 were produced.
One of the pecularities of the XJ is that it is equipped with two separate fuel tanks positioned on each side of the boot, each with its own chrome filler cap and a changeover switch on the dash.

Cabrios in allen Preisklassen
