Lancia Flaminia 2500 Coupé Pininfarina

There once was a time when Lancia built beautiful, extravagant cars, which were technologically advanced, well-engineered and of superior build quality, and they bore fine-sounding names… Tempi passati. But here’s a survivor from this great era, a 1961 model Lancia Flaminia 2500 Coupé Pininfarina, featuring the attractive bodywork that made this variant the most popular of all Flaminia styles.
The delectable V6 engine, a Lancia specialty, starts up and runs very smooth, it unfortunately also leaks coolant and oil, so a technical overhaul will be required. It produces 88 kW (119 hp) of power and is coupled to the 4-speed manual transaxle.
On the inside, there’s a light brown leather interior with a suitable degree of patina. In combination with bicolour (brown/black) door panels and a black dashboard with faux wood accents, this creates a real sense of occasion every time you make yourself comfortable behind the wheel. The grey paint has notable tinges of black. The boot looks dry, the light beige headliner in good shape.
The car was registered in Switzerland as a historic vehicle and had its last MFK (the swiss MOT equivalent) in 09/2013, all taxes are paid.

For a duration of 13 years, the Flaminia marked the upper end of Italian carmaker Lancia’s product line. Basically, three body styles were available, but only one of them lasted for the entire production span, and that was the sedan, or Berlina, which is the customary Italian name. The Flaminia was based on a technically rather elaborate concept with transaxle layout and DeDion rear axle, resulting in sales price which put these cars out of reach for the average customer.
In 1959, two different coupé variants were added to the lineup: The Pininfarina-styled Flaminia Coupé, featuring a slightly shortened wheelbase which allowed for a 2+2 seater layout, and the Touring-styled Flaminia GT, which came on an even shorter wheelbase and had only room for two people. In a rare case of automotive history, the Pininfarina coupé outsold the sedan from which it was derived, with 5,236 units built, compared to 3,943 Berlina. The GT was even fewer in numbers with only 2,866 cars built, and that includes the convertible variant that was also available until 1964. All Flaminia featured V6 engines with either 2.5 or 2.8 litres of capacity.
Other, even rarer Flaminia derivatives include the Zagato-built Sport and Super Sport, as well as the “Presidenziale”, a stretched limousine ordered by the government as state carriage.

Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow

Her majesty princess Margaret had one, guru Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh had dozens of them, and if you wish, you too can now become proud owner of a fascinating Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow.
Originally delivered to the US, the bicolour luxury sedan has recently been imported to Germany.

Sadly, the Shadow has not been princely maintained, resulting in a somewhat longish to-do list.

It comes with the 6.2 litre V8 producing around 147 kW (200 hp) of power – estimated, since the RR company would not disclose something so vulgar as the engine’s output. All the amenities of a late sixties Rolls-Royce are there, including power windows front and rear, electric seats, armrest and radio. The original vehicle tool kit is in the boot. The radiator mascot is not original.

Due to numerous deficiencies regarding body and running gear, the vehicle is being offered as a restoration project/ salvage car.

The first modern Rolls – nobility as a cure against aging?

Unlike its predecessor, the lush (or we may say bombastic?) Silver Cloud, which was “old school” throughout, the straight-line Silver Shadow was a modern, almost revolutionary appearance in 1965. It had a monocoque chassis, which allowed for a more generous interior despite smaller exterior dimensions, as well as hydropneumatic independent wheel suspension and a three-circuit brake system with disc brakes – all of which had hitherto been unheard of in a Rolls-Royce.

In 15 years of construction (including the 1977 facelift) over 29,000 units of this elegant luxury sedan were built, four times as many as the previous model. What they all have in common, apart from the big V8 (6.2 litres first / 6.7 liters later), is primarily one thing: The noble sovereignty as it can only be found in a Rolls-Royce. And where, if not in reference to this clear styling, can the somewhat hackneyed expression “timeless” be more aptly applied?

The AR-Spider of the 3.generation offers a lot of driving fun for sunny days

A young Dustin Hoffman drives hundreds of kilometres – musically accompanied by a Simon & Garfunkel soundtrack – in a red convertible: if you are one of the millions of people who saw the 1967 feature film “The Graduate”, you will probably remember the scene. It was an early example of successful product placement, and the car in question an Alfa Romeo Spider “Duetto” that had been released the year before. And had come to stay: The roadster remained in production with only minor modifications for almost 3 decades, making it one of the most famous convertibles of all time. The first generation Alfa Romeo Spider (1966 – 1969) had an elongated round rear end. For the 2nd series (1969 – 1982) this was cut off, as it were, giving the “Fastback” Spider its typical appearance. The 3rd series (1982 – 1990) can be recognised by its rather voluminous front and rear bumpers, which gave it the nickname “rubber lip”. The 4th and last generation (1990 – 1993) dispensed with the spoilers under the bumper and on the boot lid in favour of a more classic appearance. 124,104 Spiders are said to have been built in total. In Germany, the Spider tops the ranking of historic vehicles in the category “import car”.

Jaguar XJ 12 Sovereign 5.3

– sublime 1988 Jaguar XJ 12 Sovereign
– only two owners from new
– 5.4-litre V12 engine with 217 kW (295 hp) and automatic transmission
– unwarranted mileage of 158,000 km
– totally classic colour scheme: British racing green with light beige leather interior
– burlwood dashboard, centre armrest
– rare Blaupunkt Denver SQM 108 radio with “swan neck” control unit on board
– power windows, trip computer
– Spanish registration documents
– already eligible for registration as a historic vehicle

The XJ may be regarded as Sir William Lyons’ masterpiece. It was the last car the co-founder of the Jaguar company designed, and what he had created in 1968 turned out to be perennial: The luxury sedan was built over 24 years with only minor modifications regarding the bodywork.
The XJ effectively replaced not only the S series, but the 420 and Mk II along with it, becoming the sole Jaguar saloon and one of the best known British motorcars. At first, only the XJ6 was available, but in 1972, a 12-cylinder version was added, the XJ12, at that time the world’s only mass-produced 12-cylinder sedan.
The first major facelift for the 1974 model year brought raised front bumpers and, consequently, a flatter radiator grille which made the XJ appear even more slender and elegant.
In 1979 the XJ was facelifted once more, incorporating a mild redesign by Pininfarina while largely retaining Sir Lyons’ original lines. Over the whole production span, around 318,000 XJ6 and XJ12 were produced.
One of the pecularities of the XJ is that it is equipped with two separate fuel tanks positioned on each side of the boot, each with its own chrome filler cap and a changeover switch on the dash.

Porsche 911 Targa

It is fiery red. It is a Porsche, and not just any – it is the 911 Targa, the epitome of a sports car for generations of people. This beautiful specimen was originally delivered to the US where it is said to have been in one ownership until 2010. After 52,000 mls with the original engine, this was replaced by a 3.0 litre SC engine, which delivers 132 kW (180 hp) of power, which had hitherto covered around 26,000 mls and reportedly runs very smooth. The previous owner kept this Porsche in an air-conditioned garage and only drove it in fair weather. The paintwork of this early G model Porsche 911 is in good condition, as is the leatherette interior and the popular Targa roof. The chromed Fuchs rims are devoid of noteworthy kerb damage.
The car has recently received a number of spare parts, including bonnet and boot struts, windscreen wiper arms, pump relay, generator, battery, brake pipes and windscreen. It already has historic plates and comes with valid technical approval until 07/2017. A Classic Data vehicle appraisal from 2013 estimated the market value of this Porsche 911 in condition 2 at EUR 33,500. In 2016, these “Eleven” have appreciated to EUR 44,500 according to Classic Data.
This gorgeous car will be fun on the road as well as a worthwhile investment.

A legend goes into the next generation – and loses not a bit of temperament and class!

The second generation of the Porsche 911 (G model) came on the market in 1973 as a successor to the Porsche 911 (original model). It was a 2+2-seater sports car and available as coupé, convertible (as of 1983), Targa and Speedster.

The 911 was equipped with the following engines: 2.7 to 3.0 litre petrol engine (150-188 hp) and, for the Carrera version, 2.7 to 3.2 litre petrol engine (200-231 hp). The last Porsche 911 G-model rolled off the production line in 1989.

This car is almost a must in any good garage!

MG TD/C

– stunning MG TD/C, 1952 vintage imported from California in 2015
– rare “competition” model, one of only 1,700
– sought-after colour combination of pale yellow exterior and dark green leather interior
– carefully restored at an earlier point in time
– chrome bumpers, hub-caps and rear luggage rack all well-maintained
– black vinyl convertible top in presentable condition
– renewed and classy burlwood dashboard
– leather trim in fine shape
– boot-mounted spare wheel and four side screens included
– still with its original intake manifold
– truly charming, classic british roadster

The 4th generation of MG’s T Midget series was presented in 1949. The TD became by far the most successful of them all, with 29,664 vehicles built over 4 years, the large majority of which were exported to the US. It marked a great technical advance over the predecessor, using the chassis from the Y type sedan, which had independent suspension with coil springs. On this, the tried-and-tested TC’s drivetrain and the recognisable T-type style body were fitted. The result was a car that was both traditional yet up-to-date. It was also slightly larger and the 1250 cc OHV inline-4 cylinder engine now delivered 40 kW (54 hp).
Due to the popularity of this car, plenty of replicas were built after production of the original T series ended in 1955.

MG TD

This beautiful MG TD roadster in its British racing green paintwork is a 1953 vintage which was originally delivered to the US and has recently been imported into Germany. The previous owner has registered the car as a historic vehicle in 2015. Some time ago, the roadster must have been partially restored. The paint is by and large still in good condition, even if it is beginning to tear at some of the edges. All chrome parts are complete and in good shape. The MG has been used in classic car rallyes by the previous owner, so numerous stickers are attached, giving the vehicle the appearance of a 1950s racing car.
On the inside, the leather interior has at one point been dyed black, its original red colour is beginning to shine through again. The burlwood dashboard – so typical in its curved shape – is devoid of cracks and in fine condition. The 1.3 litre inline four-cylinder engine starts up, runs very smooth and sounds great, too – not least owing to a stainless steel exhaust pipe.
The MG comes with two additional high-beam headlights, a boot-mounted spare wheel and tarpaulin, but no side screens or canopy top.
A recent Classic Data appraisal values the condition 3+ vehicle at € 28,900. The MG has historic plates and valid technical approval until 10/2017.

Very rare 1979 Mercedes-Benz 450 SLC 5.0
– one of only 2.769 units produced of the range-topping C107 model
– 5.0 litre aluminium engine with a power output of 177 kW (240 hp)
– ex-works aluminium bonnet and boot lid helped reduce weight even further

– original Becker Mexico radio with very rare Becker “Verkehrsfunk-Kurier 5”

Based on the R107, Mercedes created a sports coupé with the series designation C107, which was first presented in 1971 and marketed as SLC. The SLC’s wheelbase was a full 36 cm longer than that of the SL. The coupé was a 5-seater, slightly heavier than the convertible, but the better drag coefficient made up for that, their top speed was identical. Its distinguishing styling cues were the very large, curved rear window and the slats in the back – born out of necessity in order to fully lower the rear side windows.
There were the M 110 six-cylinder engine, as well as the M 116 and M 117 eight-cylinder engines to choose from. The most powerful version, the 450 SLC 5.0 or, as of 1980, 500 SLC offered 176 kW (240 hp).
The coupé was produced for 10 years – a long time, though considerably shorter than the 18 years of the R107. During this period 62,888 units were built – much fewer than the convertible variant.
