MG TD

– 1952 MG TD in classic colour combination
– red paintwork and black leatherette interior
– imported from the US in 2014
– 1,250 cc 4-cylinder engine with 40 kW (54 hp)
– canvas top with traces of wear, but in working condition
– typical boot-mounted spare wheel and four side screens included
– a beautiful wooden steering wheel and central armrest
– Classic Data appraisal values this car at € 39.000 (condition 2+; 2016)
– German registration documents and historic plates

The 4th generation of MG’s T Midget series was presented in 1949. The TD became by far the most successful of them all, with 29,664 vehicles built over 4 years, the large majority of which were exported to the US. It marked a great technical advance over the predecessor, using the chassis from the Y type sedan, which had independent suspension with coil springs. On this, the tried-and-tested TC’s drivetrain and the recognisable T-type style body were fitted. The result was a car that was both traditional yet up-to-date. It was also slightly larger and the 1250 cc OHV inline-4 cylinder engine now delivered 40 kW (54 hp).
Due to the popularity of this car, plenty of replicas were built after production of the original T series ended in 1955.

Jaguar E-Type Series III V12

This late E-Type coupé, a 1973 model which was imported from the US, presents itself in the classic colour combination of red paintwork and black leather interior. It has the long wheelbase and the 2+2 seater arrangement which all Series 3 E-Types have in common. The mighty and prestigious 12-cylinder engine produces 203 kW (276 hp) from 5.3 litres of displacement. Not many cars of the 1970s were able to run up to 245 km/h – and those that did, hardly matched the graceful elegance of the Jaguar.
This car presents itself in a decent condition for its age. In the rear section, traces of a previous accident damage are visible. The paintwork is by and large still ok with a little rust beginning to show in certain spots, such as the boot lid frame. Some window seals are in need of replacing. The chrome parts are shiny and well-kept. This Jaguar runs on beautiful spoke wheels. On the inside, traces of wear and tear can be seen, with cracks showing on the seats and splits at the seams of the leather dash cover. Air-conditioning and (non-contemporary) radio are on board.
This Jaguar is only conditionally drivable and needs a bit of attention. With regards to the price development of these amazing cars, the investment ought to prove worthwhile.

The essence of automotive beauty

No other than Enzo Ferrari called the E-Type the most beautiful car ever made, and even if beauty is always in the eye of the beholder, not too many people would have contradicted him since. The debut of the XK-E, called “E-Type”, in 1961 was nothing short of a sensation. Its unrivalled elegant styling was complemented by plenty of power, and all of that at a relatively moderate price.

Over the years, the successful model was modified in several ways: From the spring of 1966 there was a 2 + 2-seater version with an extended wheelbase. In 1967, the headlight covers fell victim to American safety regulations. On the engine side, there were six-cylinder engines with 3.8 and later 4.2 litres, and as of 1971, twelve-cylinder motors to choose from. Production of the compact two-seaters ceased in 1971, the so-called Series III was only offered as a 2+2-seater.

A classic of superlatives, that’s all there is to it.

Rolls-Royce Corniche

Who wouldn’t wish for an opportunity to escape the daily routine in luxury?
This Rolls-Royce Corniche from May 1980 is a convertible with a difference, which was originally delivered to the US. It is one of the characteristics of luxury cars made by this most renowned of British manufacturers that they have a certain instrinsic timelessness: By looking at it, few people will be prepared to guess that this dream car is already 35 years old. The wonderful workmanship and high quality materials have proven worthwhile. On the inside, the dark blue quilted leather seats, matching door panels and the burlwood dashboard are all in a presentable condition and lend the Corniche a very noble character indeed. The positive general impression is supported by the beautiful bicolour black/blue paintwork and well-preserved chrome.
The odometer displays an unwarranted mileage of merely 43,100 mls. The engine compartment which houses the massive V8 looks dry and clean, as does the fully carpeted boot.
A Classic Cata brief appraisal from 2011 estimated the market value of this Corniche in condition 2+ at € 65,000.
If it’s been your dream to embark on a journey into a different world, this may just be the right starting point.

The ultimate status symbol

No other car symbolises affluence and power in quite the same way as a Rolls-Royce, and a Corniche in particular. The convertible or two-door saloon (the term RR preferred over “coupe”) was built for a full 24 years, totaling 5,146 convertibles, 1.108 saloons and another 140 Corniches with the Bentley badge. At its debut, this was the most expensive series production car in the world. Its potent buyers were faced with a four-year waiting period.

The Corniche is powered by the well-established 6,750 litre V8 which accelerates the 2.3 ton luxury car to a maximum speed of around 190 km/h. Of course, not many Corniches would ever have been pushed to that limit, when it’s so much nicer to just waft along in great comfort – owing to the hydraulic self-levelling system – and unequalled style, with not much of a noise apart from the wind…

Lamborghini Espada

This Lamborghini Espada was built in 1970, it is an early series 2 model. It was originally delivered in Italy and was at that time painted in a rare factory colour, gold metallic. In the meantime, the car spent several years in the US. Around seven years ago, it was brought back to Europe and has recently been registered in Austria, where it was painted in its current colour, an individual yellow slightly tinged with green.
Based on a solid body substance, the Espada is awaiting manageable visual and technical improvements. Under the large hood, the matching numbers car has the magnificent V12 engine installed. Fed by 6 twin carburettors, it produces 239 kW (325 hp) of power and can propel the 4-seater Gran Turismo to a top speed of 245 km/h. The Espada runs on Campagnolo magnesium alloys on knock-off hubs. It also features a beautiful wood steering wheel, power windows, air conditioning, quarter vents in the rear and a full-sized spare tyre in the dry and clean boot.
The Lamborghini comes with Austrian registration documents and a Lamborghini heritage certificate.

Espada is Spanish and means sword – not just any, but the one used by the Torero in a bullfight. Ferruccio Lamborghini was fascinated by bullfighting and many of his cars carry names inspired by it, as is his company logo. He had founded his sports car manufacturing business in 1963 and when he presented the Espada at the 1968 Geneva Motor Show, this was already his fourth model. While sharing the same 4.0 litre V12 engine with the 400 GT, Miura and Islero, the Bertone-styled Espada was based on a different concept altogether: Its height of not even 1.2 metres notwithstanding it was a grand touring coupé and a full 4-seater at that, owing to its rear window layout with a large, flat window and a second, vertical pane underneath. The Espada remained in production for a full 10 years, during which it received two facelifts, in 1970 and again 1972. Both focussed mainly on interior redesign, changes on the outer appearance were minimal – for instance, the Series I and II used tail lights from the Fiat 124 Sport Coupé, while for the Series III, they were sourced from the Alfa Romeo 2000. Although most Espadas came with a manual gearbox, an automatic transmission was also available. In total, 1,217 units were built, far more than of most other Lamborghini models.

Lancia Flavia Pininfarina Coupé

In the 1960s, Lancia was dubbed “the Italian Mercedes” – their build quality and engineering levels were outstanding. The company was run by enthusiasts, who aimed more at making technically brilliant cars than at making a profit, a fact which eventually ruined the business.
Here’s a Flavia Pininfarina coupé from this glorious era: Built in 1967, only two years before the Fiat takeover, it is said to have gone through two ownerships in Switzerland, where the current owner purchased it in 1996. The car was taken to Germany in 2001 and subjected to a thorough restoration before being recomissioned in 2003. The Kugelfischer injection system was replaced by an original Solex carburettor of the type that Lancia used in other Flavias.
The silver-grey paint is of expert quality. Together with a clean engine compartment and boot, this gives the impression of a high-grade quality car.
The bordeaux interior has a charming patina. The headliner is clean and the wooden dashboard and instrument panel are in great shape, as is the wooden steering wheel, a must-have for Italian cars from the 1960s.
A recent Classic Data appraisal attests this Flavia Pininfarina coupé a condition of 2-.
The Lancia has valid technical approval until 09/2017, historic plates and comes with German registration documents.

Sophisticated, traditional but with a penchant for innovation… and of course affluent – that’s effectively the target group Lancia aimed its Flavia at. Consequently, a somewhat baroque front combined with otherwise rather straight lines and outstandingly modern technological features define this line of cars. The Flavia was the first Italian production car that had disc brakes on all four wheels, as well as the first Lancia with front wheel drive, and the first Lancia that was powered by an all-aluminium flat-four engine instead of the V-shaped motors the company had come to be famous for. When the Flavia was presented in 1960, the sedan – or “Berlina” – was the only available body type, but a very elegant coupé version by Pininfarina, a four-seater convertible by Vignale and a somewhat extravagant sports coupé by Zagato soon followed. The original 1.5 litre engine was later enlarged to 1.8 litres. Over an eight-year production span, 41,114 Flavias Series I were built. The series II, after a major facelift in 1967, brought smoother styling, and as of 1969, a 2.0 litre engine with up to 93 kW (126 hp) became available.
Together with the Fulvia, the Flavia is one of the last Lancia models that were designed independently before the Fiat takeover.

Volkswagen 411 E Variant

– 1971 Volkswagen 411 E Variant
– the top model of VW’s air-cooled passenger cars
– German delivery
– reportedly only one registered keeper
– unwarranted mileage of only 13,100 km
– has been part of a collection for the past 32 years
– air-cooled flat-four engine offering 59 kW (80 hp) and automatic transmission
– silver-metallic paintwork and red velours interior
– parking heater as standard, currently not working
– Becker Europa radio
– eye-catching cult car, fewer than 100 of its type registered in Germany in 2019
– very well-kept car in original condition

The Volkswagen 411, called “Nordhoff’s legacy” after VW director Heinrich Nordhoff, was the manufacturer’s first four-door model and their last passenger car with an air-cooled rear-mounted engine. This mid-range car, unveiled in 1968, was initially available as a 2-door fastback sedan. In order to be able to offer enough luggage space, a large boot had to be created in the front area. This gave the vehicle its nickname “Nose Bear”. In 1969 a station wagon version was released with the name “Variant”. The 411 had a self-supporting body, oval headlights and was the first VW model to feature MacPherson struts. Standard equipment such as reversing lights, fabric seats or, as of 1969, double headlights with H1 halogen lamps were intended to signal the higher status of the vehicle. Customers could choose from many optional extras. Engine wise, there was a carburetor version with 50 kW (68 hp) or an fuel-injected one with 59 kW (80 hp), both with 1.7 litre displacement. In 1972 the 412 was released, a facelifted model with numerous detail improvements. It was available with a 1.8 litre engine with 55 kW (75 hp) and, as of 1973, with 62 kW (85 hp). The engines of these models were completely redesigned and achieved remarkable performances for that time. Production ended in 1974 after 367,728 vehicles without a successor: The rear engine layout had by then been considered outdated.

Jaguar XJ6 4.2 Series II

When you hear that somebody “drives a Jaguar” – like in Hannes Wader’s song lyrics – isn’t this the model that instantly comes to mind? The XJ, synonymous with elegance, style, class and sportiness, coveted by generations of kids playing top trumps… The sleek bodywork with long hood and rounded haunches that simply refuses to go out of fashion. If you’re stricken with an unquenchable desire for such a beauty, here’s help: This stunning regency red XJ 6 is for sale!
According to the previous owner who has held it for nearly ten years, the car has had only three owners so far. Various parts including the head gasket have reportedly been replaced and some beauty repairs been carried out. The Jag looks absolutely gorgeous with the chromed wheel arch rims and the much sought-after “pepper pot” alloy wheels. It also features leather seats in good condition, air conditioning, power steering, fog lights and twin rearview mirrors. Under the bonnet, the 4.2 litre 6-cylinder engine produces 124 kW (168 hp) of power and sends drive through the rear wheels via a 4-speed automatic transmission.
The XJ 6 has valid technical approval until 03/2017 and historic plates.
A recent Classic Data brief appraisal over € 13,700 (condition: 2) is available.

The XJ may be regarded as Sir William Lyons’ masterpiece. It was the last car the co-founder of the Jaguar company designed, and what he had created in 1968 turned out to be perennial: The luxury sedan was built over 24 years with only minor modifications regarding the bodywork.
The XJ effectively replaced not only the S series, but the 420 and Mk II along with it, becoming the sole Jaguar saloon and one of the best known British motorcars. At first, only the XJ6 was available, but in 1972, a 12-cylinder version was added, the XJ12, at that time the world’s only mass-produced 12-cylinder sedan.
The first major facelift for the 1974 model year brought raised front bumpers and, consequently, a flatter radiator grille which made the XJ appear even more slender and elegant.
In 1979 the XJ was facelifted once more, incorporating a mild redesign by Pininfarina while largely retaining Sir Lyons’ original lines. Over the whole production span, around 318,000 XJ6 and XJ12 were produced.
One of the pecularities of the XJ is that it is equipped with two separate fuel tanks positioned on each side of the boot, each with its own chrome filler cap and a changeover switch on the dash.

Volvo 121 “Amazon”

This Volvo 121 was built in 1968, the founding year of the rockband Led Zeppelin, who incidentally performed in Sweden during their very first tour. In 1968, the successor model would already have been available, yet the first owner chose the tried and tested 121 instead. According to the consignor, this car had gone through two ownerships when he purchased it in Sweden in 2006 (the year before Led Zeppelin’s final revival concert…). He himself drove the car on its own wheels to Germany without any issues. A few years before, in 1996, the “Amazon” is said to have been treated to a partial chassis overhaul and repainting at the Volvo plant. The ice blue exterior goes very nicely with the black vinyl interior, all in good shape. Some microbubbles on the paint, as seen on the boot lid and the rear body panels, are the unfortunate result of a winter in moist conditions, but don’t tarnish the positive overall impression much.
The B18 engine, a 1.8 litre four-cylinder, produces 55 kW (75 hp) of power. As a late model 121, this example is already equipped with disc brakes and brake booster, features which were introduced for the model years 1964 and 1965 respectively. This car has German registration documents, valid technical approval until 06/2018 and historic plates.
If you’ve always been feeling a “whole lotta love” for these beautiful Swedish steel Amazons, don’t miss your chance!

As opposed to many other manufacturers, Volvo did not immediately discontinue an outgoing model as soon as the successor had been put on the market. The Volvo 121 was presented in 1956, but the PV 544 (“hunchback Volvo”) it was set to replace lived on for another couple of years. Similarly, the last 121 rolled off the assembly line in 1970, when the 140 series was in its fourth year of production. Production of the “Amazon”, as the car is known as, lasted for a full 14 years, with fairly few changes. Volvo introduced seat belts as standard on the 121 in 1959, the world’s first manufacturer to do so. Originally, the four-door sedan was the only available body type. The coupé-like two door sedan followed 1961, it eventually became the most popular model. In 1962, the P 221 station wagon with its typical two-piece tailgate was added. The very durable 1.6 and 1.8 litre four-cylinder engines were essentially carried over from the predecessor. For the last years of production, a 2.0 litre variant was made available. The 121 also provided the platform for both the P1800 sport coupé as well as the 1800 ES (“snowwhite’s coffin”). In total, 667,791 vehicles of the “Amazon” series were built, about 60 % are said to have gone to export markets.
