The successor to the very popular E30 was presented in 1990 as the third generation of BMW’s 3 series. Internally called E36, the new sedan was considerably larger (and pricier) than its predecessor. It introduced completely new styling cues, such as the glass covers over the traditional double headlights, the forward-slanting kidney grille or the higher rear section. There were a variety of available body styles: The 2-door sedan had become an elegant coupé which shared very few parts with the 4-door variant. A shorter hatchback called Compact was added in 1994. In 1995, the Touring station wagon followed. A factory convertible as well as the (rare) Baur convertible, offered in the E36 series for the last time, and the Z3 roadster (E36/7), based on the E36 Compact platform, made the lineup complete.
The choice of engines was huge, with no petrol engine producing less than 73 kW (100 hp). Top of the range was the M3, which in 1992 offered 210 kW (286 hp) from a 3.0 litre engine, later being replaced by a 3.2 litre, 236 kW (321 hp) powerplant in 1997. 4- and 6-cylinder diesel engines were also available. The E36 was built totalling 2.5 million units at the BMW plants in Munich, Regensburg, Dingolfing as well as at the newly built Spartanburg factory in the US.

– 1987 Porsche 944 S in beautiful colour combination
– painted in Maraschino red metallic (Porsche colour code LY3V)
– matching colour part-leather interior in good condition
– European specifications car, no US import
– 2.5 litre 4-cylinder engine with 140 kW (190 hp), mated with 5-speed manual gearbox

– Becker Indianapolis radio on board
– electrically adjustable sports seats

The Porsche 944 was presented at the Frankfurt Motor Show in 1981. It was based technically and optically on the 924 which had come out 5 years earlier. The Audi sourced engine of the 924, which had come under criticism by Porsche purists, was replaced by a genuinly Porsche 2.5 litre straight-4, which was effectively half of the 928’s 5.0 litre V8.
A turbo version was introduced in 1985, further power increases came with the 944 S in 1987 and the 944 S2 in 1989. The strongest engine available in a 944 was a 3.0 litre with 184 kW (250 hp) and a top speed of 260 km/h – impressive performance for a 4-cylinder car!
A convertible was only available in 1990 and 1991. Owing to its transaxle layout, handling of the 944 was superb, which is why it won the “Best Handling Production Car in America” award in 1984. In 1991, the 944 was replaced by the 968 which retained the characteristic styling cues of the 924/ 944.

– Porsche 911 Carrera 4S of the 993 series
– delivered and always registered in Germany
– from 1997, the penultimate year of air-cooled 911 production
– vehicle from family ownership
– with the legendary 3.6 litre flat 6 engine, 210 kW (286 hp) and 4-wheel drive
– black exterior paint and black leather interior
– reported to have all extras available at that time
– Becker Indianapolis Radio installed
– rear tyres renewed
– German registration documents

In late 1993, Porsche presented the successor to the 964, internally named 993, as the 4th generation of its 911 model. It was the last of the air-cooled models and as this marked the end of an era. Consequently, the 993 has become one of the most popular 911 variants. From the outside, the 993 is visually distinguishable by the smoother bumpers, the larger rear wing and the more flared wheel arches. Of course, it also brought a number of technical improvements over its predecessor: A 6-speed gearshift became standard. As of 1995, the Tiptronic was improved and steering wheel controls added. The ABS brake system was also improved, and numerous other components altered. In 1996, an all-new Targa was added to the lineup, it featured a retractable glass roof instead of the removable roof section of previous models.
Needless to say, the power output was upped for the new 911 once again. Early 993 Carreras with their M64/05 engines produce 200 kW (272 hp), later ones have the M64/21 engine with 210 kW (285 hp). The Carrera RS version from this era topped this by producing no less than 221 kW (300 hp) – from an air-cooled, naturally aspirated 3.8 litre 6-cylinder engine.

It took 7 years to develop the second-generation 7 Series, which was attributed to BMW’s design chief Claus Luthe. The 7 Series, however, was designed by Italy’s Ercole Spada. The exterior features, longer-wider-flatter, stand for the basic concept and show in more dynamics, comfort, safety and elegance. In September 1986, at the IAA in Frankfurt, the E32 (factory code) was presented. At its debut, the engine range was initially limited to two six-cylinder models, the 730i (188 hp) and the 735i (211 hp). Just one year later, the 750i followed with the 300 hp V12. A large number of technical innovations provided the basis for the “Golden Steering Wheel 1986” and “Best Car in the World 1987” awards from the trade press. With a Cw value of less than 0.32, the new 7s were among the best in their class. The electronic engine management system with integrated emergency program and fault memory, the ASC automatic stability control, the
EDC suspension with damper control and the Check Control display in the dashboard were milestones in the automotive luxury class of the time. The interior could be customized with fine materials from the BMW accessories line or from the offerings of tuners, or tuners. The E32 became a legend as the official car of Chief Inspector Derrick in the TV series of the same name.

Sales on behalf of consignor

The Audi Coupé (Type 89) is a sports coupé based on one of the best cars the Audi brand has ever produced, the Audi 80 B3 (also Type 89), which was manufactured from fall 1988 to the end of 1996. Although the sports coupé was built on the same platform, it was nevertheless a completely new development. Instead of a staid notchback, it featured a large, glass tailgate. A high level of body rigidity was achieved by reinforcing the side sills. This enabled the designers to create a narrow roofline.
Initially, the Audi Coußé was only available with a five-cylinder engine, the now cult 2.3E with 136 hp and a 20V four-valve engine with 170 hp. Alongside the Quattro all-wheel drive, these sonorous five-cylinder engines were Audi’s image-defining statements, “Vorsprung durch Technik”.

In 1974, Volkswagen had presented its first Golf – a great improvement over its predecessor, the VW beetle and its air-cooled engine in the rear. The Golf was, from the start, a front-wheel drive car, with water-cooled transverse engines – and hugely successful. After nine years, the second generation was introduced in 1983. The characteristic shape and basic concept remained unchanged, but the new series was slightly more rounded and significantly larger – 5,5 cm wider and a full 28 cm longer! The choice of available engines was large, starting with 40 kW (55 hp) in the basic model and going up all the way to 118 kW (160 hp) in the GTI G60 towards the end of the production run. A total of around 6.4 million Golf II were built, topping the registration statistics in many countries. Even today, the Golf II is still a common sight on German roads, which is due to their effective rust prevention and superior build quality.
The “Golf Country” (1990 – 1991) with four-wheel drive, higher ground clearance and bullbars anticipated the concept of modern-day SUVs, but not their success. A small series (100 copies) of the Golf II were built as electric vehicles “citySTROMer”. Interestingly, no factory convertible was offered, so the Golf I convertible (1980 – 1993) actually outlived the Golf II.

Sachsenring Trabant P50

Are you suffering from eastalgia? Here’s your remedy! A 1960 Trabant as a solid basis for a restoration is seeking a new owner. As documented by the east German registration papers, this car has gone through three ownerships in the GDR. After the reunification, the current owner bought the vehicle and drove it occasionally until 1994. Since it’s been decommissioned, the Trabi has been kept in a dry garage. It is now being offered because the premises are being sold, and the consignor had to admit he would not be able to carve out enough time for the restoration he once had in mind for this car.
The documentation informs us that in 1979, the original 500 cc engine was replaced with a 600 cc version. The general condition of this 56-year old car is quite good, making a full restoration appear worthwhile, though the car can of course be displayed “as is” in any collection, owing to its great number of original parts, among them the curved chrome trim lines which were characteristic for Trabants from the early period. The pastel green and alabaster colour scheme is apparently not the original paint, but it is certainly period-correct. Numerous handbooks and an assortment of spare parts is sold together with the car – but not only that: A complete 1962 Trabant 500 is included in the package, either as salvage car, or as a resto project of its own!

It has become a symbol of East Germany’s economy of scarcity: The Trabant. In fairness, the car was completely on a par with its West German counterparts at the time of its release. With its front engine and front wheel drive, it was even a rather modern vehicle. The main problem was that modifications and modernisations were scarce until 1964, and virtually non-existing after that. The original Trabant, the P50, was built from 1957 until 1962 with its 500 cc two-stroke engine producing 13 kW (18 hp) of power. As of 1963, the engine was upgraded to 600 cc and a power output of 17 kW (23 hp). 1964 brought a facelifted bodywork with straighter lines – which then remained unchanged until the end of production in 1991. For the last year, a licenced version of a 1.0 litre VW 4-stroke engine from the Polo was implanted.
Body shapes included the 2-door sedan and a 2-door station wagon, called Kombi or Universal.
Despite its nickname, “racing cardboard”, the Trabant body panels were made of Duroplast, a hard plastic made of cotton waste and phenol resins – not cardboard.
A total of 3.7 million “Trabis” were built – and many of them carelessly discarded after “the turn” of 1990. The survivors are now lovingly cared for by their old or new owners.

Piaggio Vespa 50

This Vespa 50 scooter, model 1967, was imported from Italy 30 years ago and lovingly restored using original spare parts. It presents itself in a timeless, fresh apple green and is a real feast for the eyes!

It is fully roadworthy, was always kept dry after its restoration in the late 1990s and not driven.

The original workshop documentation is available, as well as the Italian registration documents dating 16.09.1967.

A small wasp to hold dear, here and now in search of a new master or mistress. As a collector’s item, as a memento, daily delight or for special occasions. Even on a Vespa Club meeting you will cut a good figure with this one, that much’s for sure.

As Italian as pizza and pasta

Who can imagine a piazza of any Italian city without a Vespa? Simply unthinkable! For almost 70 years, this cult motor scooter has been mobilising generations of young and young-at-heart people. And with regards to its appearance, it remained true to itself – countless modifications notwithstanding – to such an extent that is truly amazing.

Well over 16 million units of the small wasp have supposedly been built, in how far this includes the more or less similar license builds and replicas, can only be guessed. The vespa craze reached an early zenith in the 1950s, when Vespa-riding had become near-synonymous with a lifestyle, as can be seen in contemporary art, literature and film.

Isn’t it wonderful that this passion continues today and still there’s no end in sight?

Ford Mustang Cabrio

This 1964 Mustang is a convertible in a lovely caspian-blue paintwork. It comes with an interior in matching colour and good condition. The electric canopy top is an appropriate condition for its age.
Chrome parts and rims, as well as the tyres, look fine.

According to the previous owner, the partially restored car was imported to Germany in 2004. A dual circuit braking system, steering assistance as well as a rear axle stabiliser have been fitted. The vehicle has a new large radiator. The original radio is on board and the original owner’s manual is available.

The sporty and elegant coupe is powered by an appropriate V8 engine with a capacity of 4.3 litres and a power output of 146 hp, as stated in the registration documents. It sends drive through the wheels by means of a manual gearbox.
The technical approval is valid until June 2015.

Those in search for an affordable daily driver, but not willing to relinquish the real V8 sound of a 1960s muscle car, are exactly right with this convertible.

The original pony car – a legend takes its course

Who would have guessed how big the market gap really was, before Ford bridged it with this car? Customers camping outside the shops in order to grab one of the desired models … 680,000 units sold within two years … America was upside down, because Ford’s concept of “full performance at a fair price” had come to full fruition.

The Mustang was a trendsetter – so much so, the whole species of “Pony Cars” were named after it. Their typical features are the elongated hood, a relatively short tail, enough space for 4 people – but first and foremost, engines with more power than the running gear and braking system could handle … Even the first generation Mustangs came with up to 400 hp from just under 7 litres’ engine capacity.

The essence of “the American Way of Drive” , unadulterated and undiluted.

A milestone in motorcycle history
– 2003 imported from France to Germany
– vehicle registration and certificate available, decommissioned in 2006
– 590 ccm and 28 hp
– extensively restored in 2009
– frame, fork, tank, mudguards, headlights repainted with original lines
– chromed rims, spokes and tyres renewed
– wheel hubs completely overhauled
– engine, gearbox and cardan drive completely overhauled
– wiring harness completely renewed
– Dekra appraisal from 2009
– 2021 fuel tap renewed, carburettor repaired and synchronised
– German registration

At the beginning of the 1950s, the BMW R 67/2, together with the 500 cm³ model, was the first significant new development by Bayerische Motoren Werke AG after the Second World War. The familiar chassis with the telescopic fork and the straight-line rear suspension was also adopted for the 600 cm³ touring motorbike. New engine designs with a central camshaft, which also drives the magneto, replaced the two chain-driven camshafts. The alternator is mounted on the crankshaft stump at the front. As part of the model update, the so-called “fishtail” mufflers disappeared, which until then had been part of the typical appearance of the R 67. Until 1954, a total of 4234 motorbikes of this model were produced. The R 67 BMW motorbikes were particularly popular with sidecar drivers because of their good torque. BMW delivered 700 complete R 67/3 sidecars in 1955. The Berlin Post Office used the R 67/3 together with the sidecar made by Dittmann for express service. For a fee, West Berliners could have letters and other mail delivered within two hours at the latest within the western sectors.
