– 2000 Mercedes-Benz CL 500 from the C 215 series
– the pinnacle of German car engineering at the turn of the milennium
– well-kept coupe in rare colour combination: alexandrite green with beige leather interior
– chestnut wood trim
– German delivery, original document folder comes with the car
– 225 kW (306 hp) from 5.0 litres of displacement and 5-speed automatic gearbox
– fully equipped ex works, including audio system and Comand satnav
– multifunction steering wheel, xenon headlights, glass sunroof, climate control
– front and rear parking sensors
– runs on 19″ AMG alloys

Mercedes-Benz’s second generation of the CL class debuted in 1998. It was based on the current S class sedan from the W 220 series, which had been released one year previously. For the coupe, the wheelbase was shortened by 20 cm, and only the top end of the range engines were made available. The “base model” – a term totally out of place for this type of luxury coupe – already cost more than 200,000 DM and got a full 225 kW (306 hp) out of 5.0 litres of displacement. At the top end, power was doubled to a whopping 450 kW (612 hp) from a 6.0 litre twin-turbo V12 in the CL 65 AMG, which boasted no less than 1,000 Nm of torque. Needless to say, the interior used the finest materials and the car was equipped with state-of-the-art technology. such as Distronic cruise control, light and rain sensors, bi-xenon headlights or voice control for navigation and cellphone commands. Like the W 220 S class, the C 215 featured the new active body control suspension system, which automatically chooses the ideal damper setting in every driving situation.
Until 2006, when the C 216 was ready to relace it, 47,984 units of the luxurious coupe were built.

The other great Porsche

This was supposed to be the heir to the throne, successor to the forever-young 911, which in the late 1960s was thought to be way past its prime, with not much of a future ahead. Hence a radically different layout was favoured: The new top-of-the-range model was designed to be a luxury touring car, with a powerful watercooled V8 engine in the front, providing 176 kW (240 hp) from 4,5 litres of displacement, and a transaxle layout, which enabled a weight distribution of nearly 50/50 (front/rear). The 928 debuted in 1977 at the Geneva Motor show. In 1978, it won the coveted “European Car of the Year” award, as the first sports car ever – a clear indication of just how advanced the 928 was both technically, as well as with regards to styling. Many Porsche enthusiasts, however, greeted the 928 with something ranging from suspicion to downright rejection, as the 911 continued to sell. Nevertheless, the 928 became a success in its own right, with a construction period of no less than 18 years. Later models featured a 5.4 litre engine with up to 257 kW (350 hp). Only about 1/5 of all 928 came with a manual gearbox!

Porsche 968

– 1992 Porsche 968
– early model of the 968 series, originally delivered to the Netherlands
– classic colour combination: guards red exterior with black leather interior
– in Germany since 2014 and two registered keepers there so far
– 3.0 litre 4-cylinder engine with a power output of 176 kW (240 hp)
– 6-speed manual gearbox
– top speed of 252 km/h – impressive figures for a 4-cylinder car!
– targa roof, two airbags
– original Porsche CR21 cassette radio
– runs on original Porsche Cup wheels
– brakes renewed front + rear
– inspection performed in 2019
– German registration documents, new technical approval upon purchase

Originally intended to be yet another facelift for the Porsche 944, the 968 only became a model in its own right after the Porsche management had realised that about 80 % of the mechanical components had been either modified or replaced altogether. The resulting car still looked very much like a 944 when seen from the side, or indeed from the inside, which was unchanged from the 944 S2. The front and rear sections of the car had been restyled, though, giving them a stronger family resemblance with the 928, and anticipating styling cues from the 993.
Production of the 968 – available as coupé or convertible – was no longer at Audi’s Neckarsulm plant where the 924 and 944 had been assembled, but at Porsche’s own Zuffenhausen factory. The 968 featured an updated version of the 3.0 litre inline 4-cylinder powerplant of its predecessor, which produced 177 kW (240 hp) and was mated to a 6-speed manual gearshift.
As of 1993, a Clubsport version of the 968 targeted customers who preferred a more lightweight, and therefore faster car to the rather luxuriously equipped, and more expensive, standard 968.
A very limited series of 968 Turbo S and 968 Turbo RS needs to be mentioned. With the 968, the era of 4-cylinder Porsche cars also came to an end… until almost two decades later, in 2016, the 718 Boxster revived this tradtition.

Opel Ascona Cup 1.6 S

This Special Edition “Cup” was launched on the occasion of the Soccer World Cup 1986 in Mexico

– original mileage of only 2,500 km
– from 1986, two years before the end of production
– Imported from Austria where it was in the exhibition of an Opel dealer
– special equipment: exterior mirrors in white, seat covers and door panels in Cup-Design
– 1.6 liter gasoline engine with 66 kW (90 PS) and 4-speed manual transmission
– Exterior paintwork in polar white and “satin” gray upholstery
– alloy wheels
– German registration documents, valid technical approval until 03/2021 and historic plates

The car manufacturer Opel needed a vehicle that would close the gap between the Kadett and the Rekord. Production of the Ascona model, whose name came from a place in the Italian-speaking part of Switzerland, therefore began in 1970. This family car had an independent body, while the engine was sourced from the Opel Kadett. Three generations of the vehicle were built during the 18 years of production: The Ascona A was available as a two- and four-door sedan as well as a three-door station wagon, each in different equipment lines. The engines had capacities ranging from 1.2 to 1.9 litres and power ratings between 44 kW (60 hp) and 66 kW (90 hp). In 1975 the era of the Ascona B began. The body became larger and the vehicle, now only available as a sedan, was given a more up-market look. Worth mentioning is the special model 400, with which Walter Röhrl won the World Rally Championship in 1982. As of 1981, the Generation C was produced, now with front-wheel drive and transversely mounted engine. At times this became the best selling car in Germany. In addition to the sedans, there was now a 5-door hatchback variant. Two facelifts in the years 1984 and 1986 brought new front headlights, indicators or rear lights. In 1988 the Ascona was replaced by the Opel Vectra A.

The XXL-American Cruiser with a hood of 1,80 meters: The Gangster Car in the blockbuster movie “French Connection” and a Personal Luxury Coupé

– Beautiful original Continental Mark III
– “Long nose – short deck” – Design
– Technical control 03/2022 (MOT)
– Air conditioning, light sensor, electric windows
– Wooden decorative strips in the interior
– Wooden steering wheel
– Panasonic radio
– 7.5 L V8 with 234 hp
– Only 65.500 mls
– Good general condition
– Historic license approval + German registration

The Continental Mark III made its market debut in April 1968 as an early 1969 model. Created at the request of Ford’s Vice President, Lee Iacocca, the Mark III was designed to compete against the newly restyled Cadillac Eldorado. The first Mark series since Mark II production ended in 1957, the Mark III chassis was derived from the Thunderbird and featured new styling that mirrored the Mark II while still paving the shape for future designs and featured a prominent grill similar to that of a Rolls-Royce. Under the long hood was the 460ci V8 that was equipped with a 4-barrel carburetor and was good for 365 horsepower. Lavish luxury and power features were plentiful although automatic climate control air conditioning was available at an additional cost. The Mark III was an instant success with the discerning American public despite its nearly $7,000 dollar price tag. The model was credited as a huge push to the Lincoln division as 1969 was the first year that the Continental outsold the Cadillac Eldorado. Mark III production would end by 1971, though its short production run, iconic style and legendary performance make examples highly sought-after to this day especially if they are in a well-kept, original condition.

– matching numbers vehicle, Porsche Certificate of Authenticity available

– Classic Data appraisal over € 120,000 in 2017 (condition 2)

In the late 1950s, Porsche began to develop a successor to the 356, as it had been produced virtually unchanged since 1950 and was technically no longer up-to-date. The new model should be superior to its predecessor in all areas, without sacrificing the typical Porsche design. It made its debut in 1963 at the Frankfurt Motor Show, labelled Porsche 901. Due to naming rights claims by Peugeot, the “0” in the centre was replaced by a “1”, so that in 1964, the car entered the market as Porsche 911, with a 2-litre six-cylinder boxer engine. In 1966, Porsche expanded its model range to three models.
The models T, L (later replaced by the designation E) and S differed mainly in terms of engine performance and the features’ list. The 911 T was the entry-level. the 911 S the top model. In 1969 the engine capacity was expanded from 1,991 cc to 2,195 cc. Two years later, there was a further increase in displacement to 2,341 cc. The power output of the engines went up accordingly, so that the top model, the 911 S, took to the streets with 140 kW (190 hp). It should also be mentioned that the wheelbase grew by 5.7 cm as of 1968.

This Porsche needs some works done

The Porsche 944 was presented at the Frankfurt Motor Show in 1981. It was based technically and optically on the 924 which had come out 5 years earlier. The Audi sourced engine of the 924, which had come under criticism by Porsche purists, was replaced by a genuinly Porsche 2.5 litre straight-4, which was effectively half of the 928’s 5.0 litre V8.
A turbo version was introduced in 1985, further power increases came with the 944 S in 1987 and the 944 S2 in 1989. The strongest engine available in a 944 was a 3.0 litre with 184 kW (250 hp) and a top speed of 260 km/h – impressive performance for a 4-cylinder car!
A convertible was only available in 1990 and 1991. Owing to its transaxle layout, handling of the 944 was superb, which is why it won the “Best Handling Production Car in America” award in 1984. In 1991, the 944 was replaced by the 968 which retained the characteristic styling cues of the 924/ 944.

De Tomaso Pantera 874

Italian super sports car with V8 and indescribable design!
This 1974 De Tomaso Pantera comes from the US and has an unwarranted mileage of 24,500 mls.
The Pantera is held in a beautiful black, inside and out. The paint is obviously in good condition. The 17 inch alloy wheels in Campagnolo style look great on this car and give it an even sportier touch. The leather in the interior displays only minimal traces of use. A sports car feeling of the purest kind is generated by the slotted gate shifting mechanism that operates the 5-speed manual transmission. The dashboard as well as the entire interior are in a very good condition. The original owner’s manual is available. A recent Classic Data appraisal over € 95,000 (condition 2) is available. The vehicle comes with German registration documents, valid technical approval until 04/2017 and historic plates.
Falling in love with this car cannot entirely be ruled out…
An absolute super sports car with appreciation potential, which Jay Leno recently described as the most misunderstood and undervalued sports car of the 70s.

The Italian sports car manufacturer De Tomaso was founded in 1959 by the Argentine-born Alejandro de Tomaso in Modena. After the 1963 featured and only about a year built Vallelunga followed the much more successful and in 1966 presented Mangusta.

The Pantera (“Panther”) was intended as a successor to the Mangusta and was presented in March 1970 at the New York Motor Show.

The car was designed primarily for the North American market. Its inspiring blend of Italian design (brutal wedge shape of Ghia) and American V8-mass technique (351cui-Cleveland engine from Ford, 5.7 litre, 300 hp) lined it into the league of super sports cars of the 70s of the caliber of Lamborghini Countach, a Maserati Merak or a Iso Rivolta.

Not to mention the fact that the plugged ZF 5-speed gearbox is the same as in the BMW M1 or the Ford GT40, thus representing absolute top technology of the time.
