The Porsche 944 was presented at the IAA in 1981. Both technically and visually, it was based on the 924, which had appeared five years earlier. However, the Audi engine of the 924, which had been criticized by Porsche purists, was replaced by a genuine Porsche engine: a 2.5-liter inline four, essentially a halved 5.0-liter V8 from the 928.

A turbo version was introduced in 1985. Further power upgrades came with the 944 S in 1987 and the 944 S2 in 1989. The 3.0-liter inline four with 155 kW (211 hp) was the largest displacement inline four in a production passenger car when it debuted. The most powerful engine with 184 kW (250 hp) or optionally 221 kW (300 hp) was offered in the special 944 Turbo S model in 1988.
A convertible was only available in 1990 and 1991. Thanks to the transaxle layout, the 944’s roadholding was excellent, which is why it won the “Best Handling Production Car in America” award in 1984. In 1991, the 944 was replaced by the 968, which retained the characteristic styling elements of the 924/944.

Here it comes, the archetype of a small bubble car! A car that you simply can’t avoid falling in love with: the Fiat 500, introduced in 1957. It is both an icon of the 60s as well as a symbol of Italian compact design.
With the facelifted F-model, front-hinged doors were introduced at the 500 for the first time, replacing the so-called “suicide doors” of earlier models. Power comes from a rear-mounted 496 cc engine with a performance of 13 kW (18 hp).
People wanting more luxury, had to pick up the Fiat 500 F L: quilted side panels, map pockets in the doors, chrome bracket on the bumpers and a broadband speedometer with fuel gauge were the top features. The 500 F was built from 1965 to 1972. It also served various customizers as the basis for visual and technical changes. In 1972, the last variant, called 500 R (“Rinnovata”) was introduced, it remained in production until 1975. In total, over 3.7 million units of the Fiat 500 were built. The unbroken popularity of this model led Fiat to introduce a retro-styled new Fiat 500 in 2007.

Buick Series 50 Super Sedan

“It’s long, it’s low, it’s lithe and lean”, the 1948 brochure crooned while describing the Buick Super. And sure enough, this postwar beauty is a very elegant sight indeed. As a 1948 vintage, it is one of the last of its kind, when the next generation was about to be launched the year after.
This one is a rare specimen which according to the last owner comes in an unrestored, original condition. The Buick was – and that makes it really special – originally delivered to Europe, which is why it has a kilometre odometer. And what a gorgeous one, with its optimistic scaling up to 180 km/h…

The Super has a straight-eight cylinder engine installed under its sideways opening bonnet, which delivers up to 86 kW (117 hp) to the road by means of a steering-column mounted 3-speed manual gearshift. The Buick has lots of chrome in a condition appropriate for its age, runs on white sidewall tyres and looks as Super as befits its name, in its dark blue paint, some minor dents and scratches notwithstanding. The interior has a charming patina that just looks appropriate for a car with 67 years of age.

The Buick Super comes with Belgian registration documents.
Late 1940s cars like this don’t come up for auction every day. Don’t miss your chance!

The Buick Super, as presented in 1940, was the model placed one step above the Special, or 40-series, the company’s entry level full-size car. The first generation was built for merely two years, when what we today would call a major “facelift” was applied. The result was the 2nd generation, which was produced with slight modifications until 1948, with a 4-year break during WWII, when all car building capacities throughout America were diverted to military vehicles. Immediately before that, the 1942 Buick model range showed no less than six lines, with the Special, Extra Special, Super, Century, Roadmaster and Limited, each with its unique wheel base, from 118 to 139 inches.
The Super came with a straight eight cylinder engine with 4.1 litres, which had a power output of up to 86 kW (117 hp). Available body styles included 2-door convertible and coupé, 4-door sedan and, in the 1942 to 1948 model years, a 4-door station wagon variant. The Super was advertised to have “legroom and headroom to spare, front or back” for six passengers.
The pre-war models already had the Buick Sonomatic Radio as an extra, featuring five push buttons which could be set to desired radio stations – mechanically, with the help of a small coin.

Ferrari Sbarro Tornado SB2 – a unique and exclusive super sports car

– Spectacular and futuristic one-of-a-kind creation by cult designer Franco Sbarro
– V12 engine boasting 325 kW (442 hp) from 5.5 litres of displacement
– 6 speed manual transmission with slotted gear shifting mechanism
– Based on a Ferrari 456 GT, first registered in 1994
– Flashing Ferrari red exterior with beige leather interior
– Delivered to its original customer in 2005
– Swiss registration documents

A stunning eye-catcher – Even among Ferraris, some are more rare than others!

When you think of Franco Sbarro, you immediately have in mind unusual looking and unique sports cars. One of his most spectacular projects is the Ferrari Sbarro Tornado SB2, which is truly one-of-a-kind. The successor to the SB1 was built on behalf of a customer in 2005 on the basis of the Ferrari 456 GT and also equipped with a V12 engine with a displacement of 5,474 cc. The 357 kW (485 hp) power of this authentic Ferrari is transmitted to the rear wheels via the six-speed gearbox. Thanks to its equipment, the SB2 is able to reach a top speed of 300 km/h. At that time only a few innovative Ferrari of this type existed, so this vehicle caused quite a stir. Compared to its predecessor, the “Tornado” was thoroughly overhauled and now reminded of the Testarossa from the 60s. Among other things round headlights were installed, the bonnet was painted red and the interior was changed from white to beige. Despite the designer’s modern vision, the SB2 clearly reveals the soul of a Ferrari.

lBased on the R 107, Mercedes created a sports coupé with the model series designation C 107, which was presented for the first time in 1971 and marketed as the SLC. The SLC had a wheelbase a full 36 cm longer than the SL, 5 seats, was slightly heavier than the convertible, but the better drag coefficient made up for this disadvantage and the top speed was identical. Styling features include the very large, curved rear window and the side slats on the rear windows – born out of necessity in order to be able to fully retract the windows.

The six-cylinder M 110 and the eight-cylinder M 116 and M 117 engines were available. The most powerful variant, the 450 SLC 5.0 or, from 1980, the 500 SLC, offered 176 kW (240 hp).

The coupé was produced for 10 years – still a long time, albeit considerably shorter than the 18 years of the R 107. 62,888 units were built during this time – considerably fewer than were built of the open-top variant.

Sales on behalf of the customer

1967 saw a sensational double premiere at the Geneva Motor Show. Next to the Fiat Dino was the brand new Fiat 124 Coupé. This appealing 2+2-seater GT was designed by Mario Boano (designer of the Ferrari 250 GT “Boano”, among others). It was based on the floor assembly of the Fiat 124 saloon, which was extended by 8.5 centimetres for the coupé. Unlike some of its competitors, it also offered space for four people, so that the 124 Coupé could be described as a genuine Gran Turismo. The four-cylinder overhead twin-camshaft engine initially had a displacement of 1438 cm³ and produced 90 hp (66 kW). Four power-assisted disc brakes, double wishbones, a sports steering wheel and additional instruments provided information on oil pressure and cooling water temperature. 1970 saw a new edition of the Fiat 124 Coupé, which was internally called the BC Series. The designers replaced the single headlights at the front with twin headlights, the aluminum radiator grille gave way to a black plastic grille with a honeycomb pattern, and larger rear lights were used at the rear. Fiat discontinued production of the 124 Sport Coupé at the end of 1975.
