The traditional American company Jeep, which produced its first military vehicles in the twilight of the Second World War in 1940, presented the CJ-7 in the year of its 35th anniversary. For the first time, the new model offered elements such as steel doors and plastic hardtops. In contrast to its predecessor, the Cj-5, the new Jeep had a 25 centimeter longer wheelbase and offered a more stable driving style. The new version hit the fans of the off-road vehicle like a bomb: never before have so many Jeep models been sold.

The other great Porsche

This was supposed to be the heir to the throne, successor to the forever-young 911, which in the late 1960s was thought to be way past its prime, with not much of a future ahead. Hence a radically different layout was favoured: The new top-of-the-range model was designed to be a luxury touring car, with a powerful watercooled V8 engine in the front, providing 176 kW (240 hp) from 4,5 litres of displacement, and a transaxle layout, which enabled a weight distribution of nearly 50/50 (front/rear). The 928 debuted in 1977 at the Geneva Motor show. In 1978, it won the coveted “European Car of the Year” award, as the first sports car ever – a clear indication of just how advanced the 928 was both technically, as well as with regards to styling. Many Porsche enthusiasts, however, greeted the 928 with something ranging from suspicion to downright rejection, as the 911 continued to sell. Nevertheless, the 928 became a success in its own right, with a construction period of no less than 18 years. Later models featured a 5.4 litre engine with up to 257 kW (350 hp). Only about 1/5 of all 928 came with a manual gearbox!

Volkswagen Käfer (Ovali)

This black VW Beetle is in very good condition. It has been restored and many parts have been replaced: It has new carpeting, new seats and door panels, and the sky and the sun visors are new. Many chrome parts have been renewed. The export beetle with its typical American bumpers displays some special features, such as two-tone door panels and a very neat roof rack.

Being a 1956 vintage, it already has some built-in improvements over the earlier model series, among them, for example, the slightly differently shaped fuel tank, allowing for a little more space underneath the front hood, or double exhaust pipes. Engine-wise, the indestructible 4-cylinder boxer with 22 kW (30 hp) performs its duty.

A recent Classic Data brief appraisal over € 22,500.- is available (condition. 2+).

This Beetle will be celebrating its 60th birthday next year. Are you coming to the party?

Who has not heard of the Beetle that runs and runs and runs?

As early as 1945, mass production of the VW Beetle was commenced – the last one rolled off the line in 2003. The VW Beetle was produced over 20,000,000 times and had become a classic during its production period, enjoying a wide fan base right until today.
In early 2014, more than 10 percent of all registered classic cars in Germany were “creepy crawlies”, making it beyond any doubt the most popular classic car of all times.

Over the decades, the beetle has undergone numerous changes, the most obvious concerned the shape of the rear window. The two-piece oval rear window (“split”) was replaced in 1953 by a larger one-piece oval window. As of August 1957, this was replaced by a much wider rear window. Quite a few owners of older models had these “modern” windows installed subsequently, making the original singular-oval window variants more desirable and valuable today.

Plymouth was a car brand that originated in the USA and was marketed by Chrysler from 1928 onwards. The Plymouth Business (in the first year of production: Plymouth Business Six) was a large passenger car that Chrysler produced under the Plymouth brand name in the model years 1935 to 1938. It was one of the most popular vehicles in the US. They were known for their durability and advanced technology. The Business Sedan or Coupé model was the most affordable entry into the popular Chrysler range at the time. Originally, this model series was only available in black as standard. Other colors could only be ordered on request. The P3 series was replaced by the Plymouth Roadking.
The brand logo, to be found on the radiator grille, hood and steering wheel, was the Mayflower, the legendary sailing ship on which English emigrants sailed from Plymouth (England) to America to start a new life there.

Sir William Lyons’ iconic XJ had been on the market for nearly three decades by the time Jaguar finally unveiled the successor model, named XJ40. Compared to its predecessor, the new Jaguar featured a more angular styling. It also brought an improved build quality, and the manufacturing process had been optimized for greater efficiency. The XJ40 remained in production until 1994, when it was replaced by the X300 – which re-introduced the more curvaceous looks of the original XJ while being mechanically similar to the XJ40. In 1997, in a significant break with company tradition, both the inline-6 cylinder as well as the V12 engine were phased out, and a new V8 introduced to replace them. The facelifted car was appropriately named X308. The V8 engine came in two sizes, with 3.2 or 4.0 litres of capacity, the latter also available in combination with a supercharger. All cars had an automatic 5-speed transmission. As was customary, Jaguar also offered Daimler and Vanden Plas variants of their luxury sedan.
Total production figures for these Jaguars amount to just over 200,000 units of the XJ40, 92,000 of the X300 and 126,000 for the X308, including the respective submodels.

– New body paint in gray
– Underbody renewed (welded)

The Fiat 600, designed by the Italian engineer and designer Dante Giacosa, was presented at the Geneva Motor Show in 1955. Between 1955 and 1960, over 890,000 first generation cars were built. By 1960 the first generation, with rear-hinged doors and a 633 cc and 19 hp engine, had been built.
This was followed until 1969 by the second generation, 600 D, with the engine boosted to 767 cc and 25 hp. This model was already recognizable from the outside by the triangular hinged windows. From 1965 the 600 D was delivered with the doors hinged at the front. More than 1,561,000 2nd generation cars were delivered from the Fiat factory in Turin.
The following generations, the Fiat 600 R and the 600 S were produced exclusively in the Fiat factory in the province of Cordoba in Argentina until 1982. Within the entire construction period until 1982 there were only four model changes.
After production of the Fiat 600 series in Turin was discontinued, the group exported the Seat 600 E, with the model designation Fiat 770 S, to a number of countries in response to high customer demand.
Parallel to the Turin production the Fiat 600 was also built in Germany as NSU-Fiat “Jagst”, in Spain as Seat 600, in Yugoslavia as Zastava 600 and as Steyr Fiat 600 under licence.

Production of the Triumph TR6 began in January 1969 as the successor to the TR5/TR250 series. Some chassis and suspension components from the successful predecessor series were adopted. The design of the new English roadster did not originate from the Italian automobile designer Giovanni Michelotti, but the German bodywork factory Karmann in Osnabrück took over the exterior design of the body. Design elements from its predecessors were also retained. The smooth lines of the bodywork, the modified rear design with the enlarged trunk and the wider wheels make the Roadster look flatter and faster. With a top speed of over 190 km/h, the powerful 2.5-liter 6-cylinder in-line engine with 105 kW/143 hp also made its contribution. During its production period, which ended in July 1976, several modifications were made. This also affected the gearbox, which was replaced by the Triumph Stag unit from around mid-1971. The functional equipment, the comfortable seats and the clearly designed dashboard are popular features of the TR6. It embodies the appeal of a British roadster and is still an extremely popular sports car today. Its successor, the TR7, is a completely new model.

MG TD

What with the MG TD being a British roadster, wouldn’t you expect right-hand drive cars to exist in large quantities? Well, it isn’t like that at all. By far the largest part of production went to export markets, such as continental Europe and the US, making the original RHD specimens exotic and sought-after. Here’s one of those rare beasts, one of only 280 MG TD produced in 1953, the final year of its production run, with the steering wheel on the right.
The car is in fine condition, mechanically as well as visually. The engine has only just been overhauled, it runs very smooth according to the consignor. Suspension and brakes are new, too, and a new set of tyres has been fitted. The TD has a 5-speed Ford gearbox installed for lower revs at highway speeds. Also reconditioned were the electrics, with a new wiring harness and generator fitted. The beige leather interior and matching colour convertible top have only the smallest traces of use. Sidescreens and tarpaulin, also in great shape, are included, as is a leather suitcase mounted on the rear luggage rack.
This rare MG, recently valued at € 38,900 by Classic Data (condition: 2+) comes with the original owner’s manual, valid technical approval until 02/2018 and historic plates. Owing to its condition and rarity, this is clearly a collector’s car, with great appeal to buyers not only in its home country.

The 4th generation of MG’s T Midget series was presented in 1949. The TD became by far the most successful of them all, with 29,664 vehicles built over 4 years, the large majority of which were exported to the US. It marked a great technical advance over the predecessor, using the chassis from the Y type sedan, which had independent suspension with coil springs. On this, the tried-and-tested TC’s drivetrain and the recognisable T-type style body were fitted. The result was a car that was both traditional yet up-to-date. It was also slightly larger and the 1250 cc OHV inline-4 cylinder engine now delivered 40 kW (54 hp).

Due to the popularity of this car, plenty of replicas were built after production of the original T series ended in 1955.

– 1991 Mercedes-Benz 300 SLfrom the R129 series
– bornit-metallic paint and black leather interior
– 6-cylinder petrol engine with 140 kW (190 hp) and automatic transmission
– unwarranted mileage of 108.500 km

– original Mercedes-Benz radio on board
– runs on 16″ Mercedes-Benz alloys
– service booklet and owner´s manual available
– German registration documents and valid technical approval until 08/2020

At the 1989 Geneva Motor Show, Mercedes-Benz presented the new SL from the R129 series. Its predecessor had been on the market for no less than 18 years, so the target group was more than ready for the new car and received it enthusiastically – so much so that early customers had to put up with a delivery period of several years. The aerodynamical wedge-shape design by Bruno Sacco won the international “Car Design Award”. Technologically, the new SL was very advanced, especially with regards to its safety features. They comprised a sensor-controlled automatic roll-over bar which would be raised within 0.3 seconds if needed, as well as integral seats.
The fabric top mechanism was no longer manually operated as it had been in the R107, but electrohydraulically, it opened and closed within 30 seconds. The aluminium hardtop weighed about 10 kg less than the one of its predecessor.
The R129 was available with a variety of engines, from 2.8 litres of capacity all the way up to 7.3 litres in the rare AMG V12 variants. A total of 204,940 examples were built over the course of 12 years, with two facelifts in 1995 and 1998, most of them equipped with V8 engines.

Chevrolet Corvette (C3) Stingray

Absolutely eye-catching, blazing red Stingray!
– Classic American “Muscle Car” with low mileage
– V8 engine with 350 cui (5.7 l) of capacity, starts easily and runs smooth
– Edelbrock cylinder heads and intake manifold
– Last model year which still featured chrome rear bumpers
– Red paint is of mediocre quality (American respray)
– Brown interior in good condition
– Rear luggage rack
– Original cassette radio
– Removable targa roof creating almost a convertible-like driving experience
– 2019 NEW: Bearings of chassis and body
– 2021 NEW: Change of all liquids

The first generation Corvette, as presented in 1953, was Chevrolet’s reply to Porsche and Jaguar: A compact roadster which was lightweight – owing to its fibreglass body on a steel frame – and, with the introduction of a V8 in 1956, also sporty. In 1963, the second generation, marketed as Corvette Sting Ray, was released. It had a significantly improved chassis with independent rear wheel suspension and disc brakes. But above all, it featured a strikingly new and exciting design. Retractable headlamps were introduced – and became a Corvette hallmark until the 6th generation made its debut in 2005. With closed “eyes”, the Corvette had a sharp-edged front to contrast its elegant, flowing lines: stingray-like, indeed. In 1968, the third generation was introduced, which had a much more muscular appearance while retaining most of the engine and chassis components from the C2. This didn’t stop it from becoming the Corvette model with the longest production run, no less than 14 years!
In terms of motorisation, there were essentially two groups of engines based on either the “small block” (around 5 litres) or “big block” (up to 7.4 litres, discontinued 1975), with various transmissions and axle ratios.
