The aim was to create a low-cost, lightweight car that was accessible to young people. Production in Lyon became productive. In 1966, the two colleagues presented a handsome Aral single-seater that foreshadowed the Formula France, a single-seater formula for national promotion. Like the Barquette, it benefited from a very light and powerful chassis with an operating weight of 350 kg. It should not be forgotten that André worked by instinct and without a plan. From 1966, he created a very simple tubular chassis covered with a riveted aluminum sheet. He would then assemble real racing chassis with two superimposed triangles at the front and an inverted lower triangle at the rear, linked to external shock absorber-spring combinations. This chassis is coupled with an R8 Major engine-transmission assembly. With a total weight of around 330 kg, it is the first Fournier Marcandier reserved exclusively for racing.
