Salmson is a car manufacturer from Billancourt in France. Acquired by Renault in 1955. The S4 is a remarkable sports roadster. Allegedly only one of two known examples. The engine, designed by Emile Petit, with a double overhead camshaft driven by a vertical bevel shaft (king-shaft timing), is quite exceptional for its time.
